Once a bust, always a bust.
He's gonna dog it until his rookie contract is up and then have one 'JPP' type season with some late season sacks against teams no one cares about and gas some idiot owner into another $22 million payday.
He was only EVER about the check. The game doesn't mean a goddamn thing to him. Playing next to Watt has to be intimidating, though.
Who on God's green Earth though this shtrootz would be an NFL anything? Oh, wait. The same Skip Bayless who said Johhny Football was.......what did he say again? oh, yeah........going to bigger than his buddy and business partner, LeBron James.
I mean, holy shit. You just can't this stuff up.
He can thank BSPN for replaying "The Hit" 49,516 times where he was UNBLOCKED and made a play.
Completely UNBLOCKED. Like............no one touched him. When you leave the best player on the other team unblocked and run to his side, that usually results in a negative play for the team that didn't block him.
Just sayin'.
"Houston Texans team physician Dr. Walt Lowe recently raved that Jadeveon Clowney "looks spectacular" in his return from microfracture knee surgery."
Depends on your personal interpretation of spectacular, I guess.
Can't hurt
And starting camp on PUP doesn't mean much. He can come off at any time.

Besides "the hit", Taylor Lewan was neck and neck with him all game.
Can't pass on OBJ but i loved Lewan since that game.
Get off his dick.

No one seems to remember the play before "the hit" when Michigan received a very generous spot for the first down; emotion certainly played a role in getting Clowney amped up for that hit.
I don't see Clowney as a bust, being a bust means you play and you suck, being injured doesn't make you a bust.
I'd have to say I doubt he lives up to the hype but probably has a decent career.
Guy was the consensus 1 pick in the country in the NFL draft. So I guress the answer to this is "Everyone"
Better question would be be "Who on God's green Earth didn't think this shtrootz would be an NFL anything?"
What the fuck is a "shtrootz" anyway?
He's not a bust yet, but there's a number of 1st round picks who've had the bust label and injuries were a direct result. Curts Enis and Ki-Jana Carter, for instance. Andre Wadsworth another.
It's a complete joke.microfracture surgery is one of the most difficult surgeries to come back from in all of sports. He also had an injury his senior year at South Carolina so that should dispel the notion that he doesn't wanna play.I would hate the thread maker of this topic to work for any major publications. We have enough frank Isola's as it is already.
Clowney's Injury - ( New Window )
Clowney's from Rock Hill - 10 minutes from where I live. He was a pee-wee legend who got local attention in 5th grade. But his warts started showing in HS. First off, his academic record was horrendous. He needed a lot of help (some even think illegally) just to get qualifying scores to get into college and get his HS diploma. He also had a group of protectors who looked at him as an investment instead of promoting his best interests.
In college, he had TWO people assigned to him to keep him in line and even then, he found some trouble. His academic record continued to be horrendous and his attitude started getting worse and worse - just look at his wanting to sit out to avoid injury.
The people I know who worked directly with him said Clowney didn't have the drive to make it in the NFL and that his sheer talent couldn't make up for the level playing field, plus, they worried about the continued guidance he was getting from his close circle.
I know checking backgrounds is part of the scouting process, but very little was made of Clowney's past, even though down here it was pretty well known.
