First game of the road trip kicks off this afternoon as James Shields & the Padres take on the Mets. Today's lineup:
Man your hate for Tejada is over the top. Odd from the guy who wigged out whenever anyone pointed out a poor play by Flores.
He started a nice double play that got them out of the jam and the inning so yes he redeemed himself.
Sorry Steve, just being snarky. And maybe it is over the top. But Flores couldn't take a shit with being ridiculed. Now Tejada make a boneheaded play and it's "good try" and then praise him for fielding the most routine ground ball there is? Man, the double standard is astounding. Maybe I'm just making a point. Sorry, Tejada is a bum and I don't think I'll ever warm up to him. Sorry it bugs you.
It sure comes across that when it comes to Tejada and Flores you are incapable of being objective and tend to read far too much into most casual comments made about either.
He's got to come in and shut the door tonight. I also think the sooner he gets out there and gets a save in the books, the quicker he can get over the blown saves.
I was thinking Adam Dunn, but same difference. However, it is + good CF defense. That's massively more valuable, obviously. Adam Dunn with CF defense is a franchise player.

steve, I can understand why you think that way but that's not true. No, I don't like Tejada, but I also know he's been an adequate fielder at SS. I'm obviously a big Flores supporter and would have like to see him get more of a chance at second since he was having a very good July.
But I find it odd that were perfectly fine with this place exploding every time Flores stepped in the wrong direction yet you have an issue with me acting the same way towards Tejada.
Don't want this to become a Flores/Tejada thing, but praising Tejada for fielding a routine ground ball is like praising a 15 year old for not wetting the bed.

Yeah, it's just the free swinging all or nothing approach. He's obviously a much better fielder.
you have an issue with me acting the same way towards Tejada.
I don't have any issue with you complaining if Tejada makes a mistake. If you look back I didn't respond to that at all.
I only responded to your mocking my comment that he redeemed himself by helping turn the double play to get out of the inning.
You act like I said he made some unreal catch or something, it was an in game comment because I was happy they got out of it and I am sure he was happy to have the chance to help turn the double play to erase his error. You just have to read so much into every comment.

Yeah that about sums it up.
I'd like the Mets to succeed, not really that hung up on one player vs another. It doesn't make sense.
It's mostly just one person who never actually adds anything of substance but feels inclined to insult everyone else at the end of 90% of his posts.
Most of us have learned to just ignore it.
Is it really insulting to a grown man to have someone disagree with your opinion that you publically post on a board intended to start conversation? When exactly did you feel the burn of being insulted by anything I said?
You may be a little sensitive if you were insulted because I didn't agree that they will have somehow failed at the deadline if they can't get a good bat without giving away a good young player.
Also what makes you think anyone provides "substance" just because they comment a thousand times a day and say the same things every time ?
So you agree we could cut down on 70% if we stop discussing the same arguments about ownership, cheapness, the manager, and trade rumors made up by bad writers. So we agree

Seth, I'm almost 100% positive he wasn't referring to you.
homerun was the furthest hit homerun ever by a Met at Citified tonight. Pretty kewl.
I have said this a few times this season. IMO as Duda goes so goes this Mets team.
Nice to see him finally breaking out of his slump.
Hopefully the new additions allowed Duda to relax a little and be himself again.
I think you're right about that. Duda seems to have a pretty timid personality. I think he was pitting too much pressure on himself when the team wasn't scoring and he didn't handle it well. I think having a few fresh and more proven guys around will help.
So you agree we could cut down on 70% if we stop discussing the same arguments about ownership, cheapness, the manager, and trade rumors made up by bad writers. So we agree
This group has a run rate of about 2% substance in which they repeat and take bows for the same material. The 98% are just reciting a highlight or tweet as it happens.

My post had absolutely nothing to do with you. Carry on.

By fielding a ball hit right at him? Lol okay.

Of late? He's been awesome all year.
Grandy took care of that for us.

That's true, but feels like he has raised his game even more this past month or so.

Outside of the first few weeks when he struggled but still found ways to get on base via the walk he's been a consistent wRC+ of 115-120 all year.
It's actually refreshing to see

It's presumed to be a six week injury, checkup for any progress after three.
Michael Fulmer has a three-hit shutout through 7 innings with 11 strikeouts and no walks.
He might be a major pitching prospect next season.. dont trade him just yet, Sandy!

Thor is going to throw a no-hitter tonight and dedicate to you
Happy Birthday Dan!!!
The teams entire attitude feels so different.

Fulmer could very well be the reason the Mers are open to trading Wheeler

He should be back to LV soon, after passing through waivers again.
