According to ESPN:
Brady has authorized the NFLPA to appeal his case in federal court, a source told ESPN's Jim Trotter, where he is expected to seek an injunction that would allow him to play while his case works its way through the courts. The league and Brady's representatives had engaged in settlement talks but couldn't find common ground, which wasn't a surprise. |
Given NE's schedule:
Game 4 10/11 at Dallas
Game 8 11/8 vs Wash
Game 9 11/15 at NY Giants
Game 12 12/6 vs Phil |
Ideally, an initial injunction is granted prior to Game 4 allowing him to play in the week 4 game at Dallas. In a perfect world, some kind of "legal decision" is made so he misses games 8 through 11 (missing the Giants game; don't care about him missing the Washington game in New England), and Brady is back in time for Game 12 against Philly.
For our BBI lawyers, if an injunction is granted, any guesses that the process will drag out through the entire 2015 season or is there a reasonable chance his 4 game suspension is simply delayed (if the courts don't any suspension out)?
Right now, Dallas misses NE with Brady and the Giants, Eagles and Redskins have to play NE with Brady (assuming he isn't injured).
The league is giving Dallas a gift (although BB56 does point out Dallas seems to find a way to blow "gift" games).
Do you believe the injunction / court case activity will all play out prior to the start of the season?
I think he serves the whole suspension. If there is any delay, perhaps he plays the first two games, but I think Brady will be out for the Dallas game and playing (barring injury) in the game against the Giants.
What an idiot he is.
Wherever it is, appeal case will get postponed to after Feb 2016.
