Well in about 30 hours left before the trade deadline arrives. I still think that we need to add another starter and could upgrade at 2b. With Nova dealing with a tired arm (He fully expects to pitch his next scheduled start), CC not pitching well, and Pineda past the most innings he has pitched in 3 years we should protect ourselves.
I never expected Cashman to get one of the top pitchers, but I though that he would make one or two moves like last season (McCarthy and Prado). He still has time. Either way barring a complete breakdown we are headed to the playoffs.
Yanks have hit DP pretty well the last few times they have played him. I would have liked to have had Price, but not at the cost of a couple of the highly regarded prospects.
Let's see Cashman steal a couple of solid pieces for the run.
Nothing about this has surfaced online yet. Link?
Nobody else with this terrible news and Sweeny was just on WFAN.
Then it will be old news.

Assuming Baltimore can't catchup, Blue Jays would have to go like 38 and 22 down the stretch and Yankees would have to go 31 and 31 for them to catch up which would be tough but maybe doable now.
I think Blue Jays are hoping they can get the wild card and now with an ace like Price, win the playoff game and go from there.

On another note, Price deal this offseason will be absurd. Schezer just got 7 years 210 and Price is
1- younger
2- lefty
3- a bigger track record (more successful seasons + playing in the AL East).
Maybe 7 years 240?
Now can we get confirmation on Pineda and Nova?
I don't think we'll get a full report until after deadline tomorrow maybe. Anything the Yankees release could be used as leverage for teams they're negotiating for pitchers with
it's impossible to gauge in advance.
Just hang in there. The offense needs to keep it up.

Yeah that World Series the Brewers won with CC was... wait a minute...
No, I think they give Moreno at least another shot after Tuesday's performance- maybe they skip a Nova start and let Moreno pitch.
Tanaka
Nova
CC
Eovaldi
Warren
and then use some combinations of youngsters such as Mitchell, Serverino, and Moreno to soak up innings and skip Nova starts until he feels good. Then Pineda can come back and they can adjust accordingly

to be acquired today. We'll be fine. Riding the Rod.

Maybe this was the reason Moreno was kept up after his performance the other night.
Which, in retrospect, is hilarious.

Am told that Nova's health is not a concern for the Yankees. He's still in line to make his next start.

Many in industry sense #Yankees are poised to strike. Looking into all available arms, as they always do. Generally a team that moves late.
30 July
Pineda has Grade 1 forearm strain. Same as Miller, who missed a month. Being put on DL, but #Yankees feel he will pitch again this yr

Well we will find out just how deep the system is over the next month either because they step up or because we use them to acquire someone today to step up.
