I've been debating with someone about Cooks. I'm extremely high on his fantasy value this season.
Cooks only played in 10 games, and his stat line over a 16 game season would have been:
112 targets, 85 receptions, 880 yards and about 5 touchdowns. This was as a 21 year old rookie. I also heard a stat from Matt Berry that Cooks caught 80% of his targets, which would have been the highest in the NFL if he played the entire year.
Graham, Thomas, and Stills are no longer a part of the team. They accounted for 264 targets and 193 receptions.
My friends argument is that Brees prefers big targets, as seen with Stills, Colston and Graham, and it will be someone else that ends up stepping in for those guys. But I just can't help but see Cooks getting a significant increase in targets.
I don't think its unreasonable to expect Cooks to get something like 140 targets, 100+ receptions, 1100+ yards and 7-8 TDs. Am I being overly optimistic?
I see 95, 1250, and 8 tds.
ODB Brown Thomas Bryant Jones Nelson Johnson Green and Cobb for me right now...
I have Evans Sanders Jeffery Hilton Benjamin Cooper all as 3rd round grades with Cooks...
What about Gurley..How high would you draft him now that he is a full participant at camp?
Nope. 2 games is still too much for me, especially in PPR. Rbs are jsut too injury prone for my liking. I rather a guy who is a safe pick with huge upside.
I am taking his teammate number 1 overall.
As with every other year, i'm low on RB's in general. Too many injuries and so many split backfields.
I love Beckham but Brown is better right now...he is just so good in every aspect of the game...
Beckham may be better than him for a career but for right now in that offense Brown is better...
There is only 1 RB i would take ahead of the Wrs...Jamaal Charles...Other than that i am taking Brown or Beckham over them...
Late 1st if Brown and Beckham or gone i would go with CJ Anderson...think he is going to beast in that offense...
The top 5 in most drafts though will be...Charles, AP Lynch, Lacy and Bell..in some order...
Depends where i pick as well and who is there but that is probably what i am doing...
There are some good sleeper RBs that can hold their own and give you a decent amount of points...
In my 10 team last year i went with Mccoy at 3, i still went 14-2 and Mccoy was not even starting for me by the end of the year...
If you pass on Brown you're doing so based on hypothetical projections or NYG loyalties. I love BEckham but you don't draft anyone over Brown, especially if your league gives points for punt return yardage. Even if it doesn't Brown is the best of the best.
And Beckham has yet to play a full season. That's big.

If you take Williams to handcuff Bell, you are hedged for the first 2 games anyways. ALthough Im not in PPR so that isnt a factor for me.
