- Talks with MIL went on all day, Flores never entered into conversations until after game started.
- Milwaukee was extremely aggressive shopping Gomez.
- Deal was never agreed to when it got leaked. (don't know who leaked it)
- When it got to medicals the Mets saw something and doctors said "no way"
- Brewers still wanted to deal, Mets didn't, Brewers got upset with Mets
- Francesa hearing money stuff not true, Lagares never in deal
- Deal blew up for 1 reason - Gomez health
- Biggest problem with Mets was leaving Flores out there
- They need to turn around and get another player, only way to fix this
- Milwaukee is no longer a possibility to deal with (Parra out)
- Cespedes is not 1 of their options
- 2 offensive options out there they are trying to obtain (doesn't know who they are, CarGonz, Upton, Reddick)

Thanks for re-capping. Pretty much exactly what I thought.
If 1 of those 2 don't pan out then I could see Coco Crisp as a waiver deal sometime in August if comes back and shows he's healthy. Beane and Alderson each noted how easy it was dealing with each other.
Based on the previous statement, the long shot prayer acquisition would be Reddick, assuming the Mets think he can play some CF. Don't think Beane will want to deal him, but perhaps he'll try to seize an opportunity to go after Wheeler and Nimmo? Not sure I'd do that personally, but an interesting thought.
I found that Carmel car service commercial hysterical...
Uribe was a 10x better acquisition than Cuddyer and I don't think it's even close. He's been a near .300 hitter/.750 OPS guy on good teams with great defense for the past few seasons. Same age, less injury issues. Obviously only made sense after the season started when Wright went out.
Please keep the reminders that Cadaver is on the roster

yeah but he didn't know David Wright pre-facial hair so he doesn't get the big loot like Cuddy! lol
I think at this point in a candid moment Sandy would admit his offseason was beyond atrocious. Made 1 move for an injury prone guy past his prime from Coors AND gave up a 1st round pick for him. Meanwhile now we hear:
- Extremely cautious on all medicals (Gomez)
- Not interested in the other CarGo (numbers away from Coors)
- Looking for players beyond this year (not rentals, which are usually who's avail at deadline)
Defense has been more than solid and he's taken some really good AB's. Fouls balls off and makes contact. If they can get him into the 8th spot I have no issues with him starting rest of the way. Cecchini should be up at AAA soon enough anyways.

Trade talks between #Mets and #Tigers heating up. Mets determined to acquire Cespedes tonight.

I think he knew that Cuddyer was unjustifiable, but the organization felt that it needed to do something and that cost aside he could be a good piece.
Not surprising that there is a new found hyper-sensitivity to injuries. We've been killed this year. Wright, Lagares, Cuddyer and TDA all hurt -- going into the season, werent they 4 of our 5 top position players? You need some guys without red flags.
No. Tejada is basically the every day SS at this point. Flores became a bench guy when we acquired Uribe/KJ
1 inning 0 hits 0 BB 2K on 7 pitches
His ERA went from 108.00 to 27.00
Montero, who has been on the disabled list since April 29 with rotator cuff inflammation, will be re-evaluated by doctors.
The 24-year-old did make two rehab appearances with the Gulf Coast League Mets, but it appears his return remains a long way off.

Just shut him down. Let him rest up over the offseason. Why we need to push it now I have no idea.

Of COURSE he had a setback. Every single person who gets hurt on this team has a setback of one sort or another; no one ever comes back on time...
Get a bat, Sandy, and put this mess behind us...

One of the worst moves in franchise history

I think I would too. Love the hustle/attitude he brings to the table.
