Actually considered a top notch clubhouse guy. Good energy, A's players hated seeing him go. Just circumstance.. Dealt for Lester, dealt because the Red Sox had 6 OF and loved getting a youngish SP for him (gave 88 million extension) and now can't be offered a QO and will get 120+ as a FA

I mentioned this before. Team that acquires Cespedes (if traded) has until five days after the WS to resign him. Then he is gone, done, can't be resigned. Not a typical rental in that aspect.

Zack Wheeler on still being a Met: "I want to be a part of this team and what we are about to do. I Love NY and want to stay here...
Matt Ehalt @MattEhalt
Wheeler continued: "Been here for a few years and I want to finish up what we started here."
I think he knew that Cuddyer was unjustifiable, but the organization felt that it needed to do something and that cost aside he could be a good piece.
Not surprising that there is a new found hyper-sensitivity to injuries. We've been killed this year. Wright, Lagares, Cuddyer and TDA all hurt -- going into the season, werent they 4 of our 5 top position players? You need some guys without red flags.
The injuries haven't been much worse than previous years, the difference is the games mean something this year so they're more noticeable I suppose. Wright, Cuddyer, TdA have all battled injuries. Other than Wheeler rotation has actually been remarkably healthy.
I think Sandy wanted to see progress before making big commitments knowing how tight the budget is. I don't fault him for that at all but I do think they cheaped out a little bit around the margins of the 25 man and could have used some of their resources wiser. Non-tendering Gee/Parnell would have saved almost 10M alone (or not holding out for prices teams weren't paying via trade).
He's played on two teams and is really just coming into his own offensively.

BUT.. wow. That would be something. A little scared of the cost. I really hope we'd be looking to keep him long-term if that were the case.
I think that's where we are headed.

Where is this from?
Also you'd have to assume Flores is safe with Tigers infield already pretty solidified.
I'm intruiged.

120 million on the low end. Choo and Ellsbury got 150+

I hate this shit.
Good question
I hate this shit.
LOL it didn't seem like Rosenthal's style of writing plus I didn't get notified on my phone that he sent out a tweet.
Maybe Collins thought Niese would be traded and was steadfast in not getting mocked again.

Why was he taking roids during his suspension?

A few people were actually re-tweeting it. Totally bogus. Ugh.

Two names I'm hearing are likely on Jays' radar as they consider adding pitching: Andrew Cashner and Jon Niese.
Rather get Pillar and Roberto Osuna
