Familia dealing in the bottom of the 9th, and the game is called in the MIDDLE of the LAST batter? Then the manager goes to the SAME reliever after a 40 minute wait? LOL
I seriously can't take this team anymore. Kick in the fucking balls after kick in the fucking balls. I hate the Mets so much and I hate that I root for them. I really do.
whenever this godforsaken game resumes. Talk about screwing the pooch. This past 20 hours has been an embarrassment. Not all their own doing, but they certainly took the opportunity to make things worse when they got the chance.
are ridiculous. Clippard was used when he was supposed to be, who exactly was Collins going to use that gave you confidence?
No idea honestly. I don't really fault him for Familia going back out having only thrown 4 pitches. Just a shitty situation from Parnell to the umps to the weather. We are literally cursed.
and think it can't get worse and you go through the last 24 hours, you ask yourself is it worth it? It is like signing up for a world of hurt in what is supposed to be a diversion from the real world hurt you deal with
very rarely do you see play suspended in the middle of an atbat

I don't want to speak for others, but for me it was the decision to go back to Familia after 40 minutes
And use whom exactly? Carlos Torres who reportedly was almost DFA'ed 10 days ago? Alex Torres one of the worst relievers in baseball? Collins wouldn't be blasted for that not working out?
RE: very rarely do you see play suspended in the middle of an atbat
rain like when they resumed play? Had it stopped or just calmed down?
I can't blame the Umps for stopping play, but to resume and then just stop again five minutes later is pathetic unless the rain had significantly subsided.
And if Gilmartin blows it or gives up a hit then everyone goes "WTF, Gilmartin? Why not go with your best arm!". Gilmartin since the all-star break 4 games 5.06 era 1.69 whip. This is ridiculously unfair criticism. If there were a clear guy (Mejia, Clippard etc), 100% fair. He had NOTHING.

They knew they had about 10 minutes but with 1 out left they "hoped' that would be enough.
What was it, 15-20 minutes? He should just do his job.
I can't take it anymore.

Really don't like going back to Familia after a delay like that.

Easier said than done. The delay was longer than that. You can't just put a guy back out there and expect him to be fine. He has to get warm again.
And if he went to [insert name] and this happened you'd get the complaints of why he took him out.
Oh come on...who DIDN'T see that coming?

That was about as predicable as they come.
Awesome.
Can't script a worse 2 days if you try.
I just can't blame him this time. Familla has just shown himself to be a complete weakass
This is awful. Terrible loss if it stands.
What a disaster the last 20 or so hours have been..
To some people the Mets have never had a good manager.
What a disaster either way though.

Flores with a walk off would be awesome

Agreed. It would have taken 60 seconds maximum and if he gets on base, then you suspend the game.
