NFT: Win 10 updated on two of my PCs

Alan in Toledo : 7/30/2015 3:37 pm
on my Dell desktop XPS 8100 running Win7/Pro64 and on my Asus laptop running Win8.1Home64.

Updates took a while but went smoothly and all functions & applications appear to be working properly.

Laptop was using Start8 to mimic Win7 desktop rather than annoying Win8 native appearance. QuickLaunch icons wouldn't display until Start8 was uninstalled.

I'm reasonably savvy and so ignored warnings in the press about early adoption. Glad I did.

thanks for the update.

I have an ASUS laptop with Windows 8.1 Hate Windows 8.1 I really don't like the ASUS (loses internal connection, screen gets "shaky").

Were you having issues with the ASUS and Windows 8.1? If so, does it look like Windows 10 fixed any of the issues?

The only issue I have is that outlook 2013 wont open
So, two days in and the only issue I've come across

is that iTunes is not automatically downloading podcasts since installing W10.

I'm not sure if that's a Windows issue or an iTunes issue.

Podcasts can be manually downloaded.
I couldn't update

and I'm baffled as to why. I have two Dell XPS 8300s running
Win7 64. Both PCs got the same error message that the system could not be updated.

Nothing I've read indicates exactly why.

So far, so good.

Regarding the ASUS, dropping internet connections and the screen going into a "shaky" mode were reported problems in reviews many people have experienced that I found out about AFTER I bought it.

I should have stuck with Dell.
I love Win10
