We are going to Bermuda next wk and staying at Fairmont Southampton by horseshoe bay for 5 days. This is our first time there for us and the two year old.
I heard things are pricey there. Should I pack extra water and snacks in the luggage?
Anything to do for the 2.5 year old?
I love Bermuda, and would probably spend quite a bit more time there if the climate was warmer for longer. Enjoy your trip!
I would hop on the bus on the backside of the resort and ride north to the Dockyard. Lots of shopping, artists, restaurants, etc.
Take the ferry to downtown and all through the Great Sound and Little Sound - as well as Hamilton.
Nothing is cheap there. And you have to act the fool and rock the bermuda shorts and button down.

Good Place. We stayed in the Resort just on the Right of the place (on R when looking at it from Road... forget the name of the place) 1st time ever there & we had a good time. Rented Scoots for the week & went all over the Island. Wish I could remember the name of the restaurant we went to... Locals place but was F'in AWESOME!!! OMG so GOOD!!
My advice:
Spend plenty of time at Horseshoe Bay (and Warwick Bay) beaches. They are right next to the Fairmont's beach, which is not anywhere near as good as Horseshoe Bay. Only benefit of Fairmont beach is it has the chairs, umbrellas, food/drinks etc. but Horshoe Bat is one of the most breath-taking beaches in the world.
For dining, you MUST eat at the Waterlot one night, otherwise I would probably avoid the other restaurants at the Fairmont. They are nice but over-priced and not very good. Henry VII is an affordable, good restaurant nearby. The best restaurant on the island and one of best dining experiences you'll ever have is the Four Ways Inn. Worth every penny.
I would strongly recommend renting mo peds and just riding around and exploring the island when you're not at the beach. It's a beautiful place. Hamilton is ok but more of the commercial center. I really enjoy St. George though. It's the most historic and has some terrific little restaurants right on the water in town. Gibbs lighthouse is a fun little place to visit and ride up to by the hotel and has a great view from the top.
Swizzle Inn is a great place (they have two locations) as well.
For a great local sweet treat on a hot day, visit Cool Run-Ins, a little truck just down the road from the hotel that services amazing shaved ice. Fun place to park the mo peds for a pitstop!

Horseshoe beach is awesome - softest sand I was ever on, it's like flour.
If your kids are young, I would probably stay away from Waterlot (fancy steakhouse) and Four Ways Inn (fine dining).
Henry VIII and Swizzle Inn are more family friendly, if you're looking to eat outside of the hotel. Henry VIII is perfect place to bring kids. Cool atmosphere, close to hotel, and diverse menu.

I hope these restaurants are all kids friendly

Thanks. My 2 year old wont sit still after 30 min at a meal
Swizzle Inn is a 'chain' of sorts there (4-5 of them IIRC, but they're privately owned). It's very laid back and inexpensive, nobody is going to give you a hard time there.
The bay beaches aren't as nice as the ones with open ocean exposure, but you've got a little one, so the pounding he'd take at Elbow Beach wouldn't make it worth your while anyway.
