This isn't the boyscouts. You don't get merits for trying hard. If Fulmer is Verlander II and Cespedes bombs we will absolutely care and should care.
I don't like this trade at all for the Mets. Cespedes is having a career year batting in a great lineup. He's not a selective hitter so getting good pitches to hit is key for him. He won't get nearly as many with the Mets.
