Beltran is hot, too. If Beltran can be just a fraction as good as he once was for the rest of this season, this offense will be even scarier than it was in the first half of the season.
there were some stats about HRs by switch hitters ... you have Micky Mantle and Eddie Murray ... Teix is entering that territory. Not sure I have the stats quite right but they were impressive, all HOFers.
He's sitting on some nice career numbers. Shade under 400 hrs well over 1000 rbi lifetime average around 270 a bunch of legit gold gloves and all star games. A ring. He needs a few more years of this but he's already had a damn good career. Great all around first baseman good to see him bounce back from the 2 year injury doldrums...a few more dominant seasons maybe even 2 more and maybe the hof?
I brought up at a family get together who you'd rather have Tino Martinez or Tex -- we all said Tex.... close but Tex is just the better player.
Really tough call, as both are/were tremendous. I think that Mattingly had more range, but Tex is at least as good as him around the bag...and that's saying a lot.
And Headley has really come on strong over the last month. A-Rod and Teix are killing the ball and Didi is hitting better, but as Ells and Gardner have slumped somewhat Headley has done a nice job of picking up the slack.
better fielder and I like the fact that he can switch hit. Not that Tino had a big problem with lefties at all, but I like that even when as filthy one like Sale is going you ccan put Tex in there as a right handed bat.
yea Dun Tex, ARod and the bottom of the order guys
Am watching with the sound off so as not to awaken anyone here.
They are down a few starters, but what's the point in sending Eovaldi--the one healthy starter who has produced despite his ERA--out there in a laugher when he's at 110+ pitches? Why not have the last guy in the bullpen start the 6th?
but I'm ok with it. I probably would've pulled him before the 6th but Eovaldi is a guy that could use some experience pitching deeper into games. Now he didn't even pitch 6 IP tonight but 118 pitches is something new for him, especially after reaching the 9th for the 1st time in his career the last start.
Risky with our SP situation, but with our huge lead those were pretty stress-free pitches and a good opportunity to let him experience 110+ pitches again. I question the move but I don't completely hate it.
The more experiences Evoldi gets on the mound the better.

Rodriguez, Teixeira and Beltran are combined 7-for-7 with two walks, two home runs, five runs, and eight RBI. Six of those RBI from Tex.
or good health. We have the first and are working on the second. Would have liked to see Eovalid do better tonight, especially at keeping the ball down.
Adam LaRoche came out of the White Sox bullpen. He did a really good job, retiring the side.
But an easy win and Tex got mad after his little brush-up with the Yanks 3rd base coach and is taking it out on other teams. 2 bombs to dead center including the grand slam that broke it open. The 2nd HR is one of the longest I've ever seen him hit and would have come close to landing in the black had he hit it at the old YS
Tex's huge night brought him back into a tie for the AL RBI lead

Maybe they could take a flier of Bud Norris now that he's been DFA'd by the Orioles. He still throws hard and he was a quality pitcher as recently as last year.
1-0 Yanks.
More likely headed to the DL after the game for shortness of breath
holy mackerel ...
who singles - 10-2.
Cashman on why no innings limits for Severino: Yanks added Instructional League/winter ball innings to last year's minors total of 113.

Total team effort tonight.
⚾️ 8 players have at least one hit
⚾️ 7 players have at least one RBI
⚾️ 7 players have scored at least one run

At this point all, you can hope for is that he proves everyone wrong. Like a reverse Jay Buhner, or something....I'm going to have another shot.

Who would have predicted that, this deep into the season?
Yankees win.
We play today, we win today. Dass it.

Teix 3rd and ARod 5th in OPS in the AL. Not a bad 3-4 combo.

Ha, I was going to post that last night, but for some reason decided not to. But...damn right. :)

LaLob strikes again.
How can that happen, after all the trades they made. I never thought they would lose another game.
