How can this portion not leave you exhilarated for this season! Hold on, somehow get in the playoffs, and give Eli the chance to make history...

Is Eli Manning primed to be “elite” again?: In 2011, Eli Manning carried a New York Giants team with no defense and no running game to the playoffs. He was arguably the NFL’s MVP that season. He hasn’t regained that same magic since then. However, Eli was very good in 2014 and seems primed for even a bigger season in 2015. There is a quiet confidence about him. He’s healthy and teammates have noticed a very lively arm in offseason workouts. Eli knows Ben McAdoo’s QB-friendly system now. His favorite target Victor Cruz will be back. In Shane Vereen, he may have the best receiving back he has had since Tiki Barber. He has a top-10 receiving tight end in Larry Donnell. Rueben Randle may be finally coming on. But most importantly, Manning has arguably the most exciting offensive player in the NFL to throw to in Odell Beckham. The way this league is now set up is that an outstanding quarterback can carry a team to an NFL Championship. One more title run and Eli has guaranteed himself a spot in the Hall of Fame.

...I like your optimism!

But here's what I'm seeing:

(1) A right side of the offensive line manned by injured Geoff Schwartz and journeyman Marshall Newhouse, not to mention a rookie at LT;

(2) Starting defensive ends Robert Ayers and George Selvie, (and no JPP for maybe ever.)

Time will tell, but you can punch your clock on this: Eli can put up the gaudiest. greatest stats in the history of the game! But the game will be won at the LOS.

Will just have to wait and see where that all goes.

But keep the good vibrations going... this team needs it!!!
He has the receivers.

The only question is the protection that the tackles will give him.
Sounds like even Eli knows where the issues lie with the O

Q: It seems almost impossible for a defense to guard them all.

A: They’ll figure out a way. There is always a system and there’s a matter of the offensive line, being able to run the ball, offensive line playing well, myself throwing the ball accurately, making good decisions, good down and distances. There’s a lot involved with it but I’m just excited to get out there on the field with all of them and get to work.
