you could see how bad he wanted that one. Clippard fresh for tomorrow. Get Blevins back in the pen and put Cuddyer's bat on the bench to come in against tough lefties and this team is going to be really tough to play against. Love the flexibility Sandy has built with this roster. Did a lot more than I expected he could in season and just about anything anyone could have asked for.
After a rough first inning he settle down and didn't allow them to score past those first two runs giving his team the chance to get back into the game.
back from you and don't think we plan on giving it back the next 5 years. Matter of fact we plan on making a home away from home at your park for a while
battled and did a heck of a job after a rough first. Kept the team in the game even though he didn't have his best stuff. Also Duda looks like he's heating up again. He's hitting like he was in April and May.

If everyone can stay healthy in the super rotation, I think the mets can be perennial contenders.
Cespedes has to be himself but your first game for a new team is always nervous time. A healthy DW is going to be interesting, Matz hopefully cleared to throw. Cuddyer bench strength, Blevins cleared to throw. As good as tonight lineup was, it can get a boost or 2
He not willing to play RF, but is willing to play CF?

Terry Collins said Yoenis Cespedes told him he likes center field, so Collins said he will use him there on occasion.
"When I got to the big leagues, I came in as a center fielder, which is the position I played in Cuba," Cespedes said in Spanish. "In Oakland I was moved to left field, and I struggled at first to adapt to it, but I'm very used to it by now, and I feel very comfortable there. But, even though I havent done it regularly in a few years, I know I can play center field. I will play where the Mets need me."

Alrighty, then.
Glad to hear he's showing some flexibility. Makes the trade an even better move....
RE: RE: But why not Conforto - Cespedes - Granderson
if the Mets are willing to play a guy out of position in center? He could play every day.
And are Kelly Johnson or Cuddyer's offense worth the drop off from Lagares to Cespedes in center?
It's just a strange decision to me.
Because he was hitless in five of his six games. Once the trade went down it was the right decision to send him down to get the needed work.
Even if it is the right move to give up for the year on your best hitting prospect after less than a week, is Kelly Johnson's offense really worth the dropoff from Lagares to Cespedes in center (and Cespedes to Johnson in left)? Cespedes isn't good in center.
I guess we'll see.

Whether or not Lagares should be in center is another discussion entirely than if Conforto should have been sent down or not. I still want Lagares in CF for now.

Ha! Have you even seen him play CF?
Go back to the MMA thread, where you were getting your shit kicked in Ll over the place...

Oh look its my personal stalker.
Have you seen his numbers in center? Have you ever wondered why he doesn't play center? TIA.
I posted before you on this thread, asshole. I went to the MMA thread because I find Rhonda Rousey fascinating, and what a surprise - you were spouting some stupid shit, and got called out for it...
I haven't seen him play CF. And unlike a schmuck like you, I don't simply look at numbers and make a judgement.
Have you see Lagares play this year? He's been awful at the plate, and his defense has been way off from last year. Not to mention he can't throw for shit due to his elbow. So the "drop off" from him to anyone isn't THAT significant. In fact, Kirk plays better defense this year (but unfortunately, can't hit the side of a barn)
chris r is a dead man walking on BBI, so he takes his tired act here, where he is safe from having to answer where is his response to Bill2? BBI has less territory for him to express his tired contrarian act.
post not the poster. I think Chris R raised some valid points about the mets decision with Conforto and the OF configuration. His douchbaggery on other threads really doesn't change that.
refreshing to see citi field rocking and the mets playing in big games. I've forgotten how much fun this is.
Duda breaking out really adds a new dimension to our lineup. Him and Cespedes is a legit 1/2 punch with power bats. If we could only have some good luck for once, and have wright come back in 2013 form for September, we're going to make some serious noise.
One game out of first with the Nats on their heels

He needs to play ever day so once the trade went down better for him to go down then sit on the bench in the majors.
Bump. I'm genuinely curious

Murphy
Duda
Cespedes
semihealthy Wright
TDA
is as good as any lineup in the majors.
I also think you want Plaweki in there with Noah. They've been a pretty good combo
