WR Rueben Randle

August 2, 2015

Q: Are you excited to see what this offense can do now that you guys are all here together finally?

A: Yes. Now it’s all about us going out there and putting in the work, like making sure we’re all on the same page and all have an understanding of what we need to do out there and do it.

Q: What do you expect to see from yourself in this offense?

A: I just want to get better everyday. Whenever I take the field, I just want to get better and improve myself in this offense. That’s what I want to do.

Q: How do you see your role changing now that Victor is back?

A: I don’t think it’s changing at all. We all have to know what we have to do. We all have to be interchangeable out there within the offense. We’re all just trying to go out there and compete and make sure we make each other better each and everyday.

Q: The three of you [Cruz, Beckham, and Randle] were really never on the field together last season. How excited are you to get on the field together and see what you guys can do as a trio?

A: Very excited. On paper I think we’re all exciting, but it’s all about making sure we understand what we want to do and have an understanding of this offense so that we can play together well and help this offense move.

Q: It seems like in terms of strengths and weaknesses, there is something for everyone there.

A: Right. We all should be able to play our roles in this offense. We all understand that we all are playmakers and there’s going to be a lot of things for us to learn and improve. Coach McAdoo is going to do a great job, I’m sure, of spreading the ball around for us…

Q: Is the competition level higher at your position this year?

A: You could say that— there are a lot of good receivers inside here right now, and we’re just trying to come out here and have fun. We know it’s a business, and that’s part of the game, but I think we’re a pretty close-knit unit to tell you a fact and we’re just going to come out here and give our best each and everyday. It’s pretty fun for us to be around each other.

Q: You closed the season pretty well personally last year— is there something specific that you did well that you want to build on this year?

A: I just want this team to make plays, man. That’s pretty much it. I want to get better and make as many plays as possible— as long as I continue to do that, then everything is going to be okay.

Q: A lot of people are saying that guys like Landon Collins are better-prepared because they played in the SEC— having played in the SEC yourself, what is it about that [conference] besides the level of player that translates?

A: I think the coaching— the coaching also helps, along with the competition in the league [the SEC], the experience you get, and the things that they teach you are trying to help you when you’re coming to the NFL
