than switching from guard to tackle, then this probably indicates they are determined to have him at LG most of the time and LT if absolutely necessary, and not return to RT this season.
Coughlin seemed optimistic that Flowers will soon return to the field.
“He doesn’t seem to be bad,” Coughlin said. “It’s a hip flexor issue. This morning he was sore, but by the time I caught him in the meeting room, he was doing this (stretches leg). Hopefully, it’s just a short amount of time.”
Good.
So. They finally tried a 3-year All-Big East starter at OLT at OLT Â
Even more brilliant than having one play in the redzone pacakage where a 6'6" Ramses Barden stands in the corner of the endzone for a jump ball. Oh wait. They never tried that. In 4 seasons.
Get well, soon, Flowers.
Pugh setting himself up for a big pay day, not just his play... Â
Someone is still mad at the Giants for how they handled Ramses barden...
The guy was an awful WR. But yes he would have done just fine in the Red zone where there's less margin for error and more at stake. And less room to maneuver...
I know its early in camp but if you look at the depth chart and the team goal to develope consistency along the line why make this move? Gettis moved to starting LG from almost the bottom of the depth chart while the backup OLT was shown to not exist even for just a few days. This was a chance to see if your backup LT was really on the team or a myth.
I'm also not a big fan of the musical chairs we are playing at safety three days into camp. How will these young guys learn anything if each day a new player is slotted across from them. Not sure how someone can go from the starter all OTA's to third string so quickly? This is a team with many problems to solve adding to your list of problems needlessly at this point seems like taking a step backwards.
They are probably rotating to give equal time to all the players since the abilities are probably a question. So playing 1st team with 1st team D allows equal evaluation. Right now it seems Bennett Jackson has elevated himself into the Collins, Cooper discussion.
As for OLine - Pugh was always an option at LT. Moving Gettis in at LG keeps them from moving another player out of position.
