was singled out by multiple reporters on Sunday too.
Yes this is very encouraging to hear. With the likely absence of JPP for at least several games the Giants are going to have to create pressure from the LB's and DB's. Kennard is a player I think could get pro bowl consideration if he puts up 7-10 sacks like I expect. That is dependent on him staying healthy which is something he has had trouble doing.
I remember people laughing at me when I said Kennard Â
would be a huge impact player coming off JPP's hip or even Moore's. alas, JPP won't be here but he will still make an impact against the run and blitzing. He is big, fast and will overpower smaller backs.
If we want to have a decent season, the defense MUST generate pressure.
"There are times when second-year LB Devon Kennard cannot be blocked. On one pressure, he broke free and stood in front of Eli Manning for a couple of seconds, as if to say, “Yeah, I’d have a sack here if I was allowed to hit the quarterback.’’"
Cruz really showed now hesitancy with his knee, both planting and cutting aggressively. He did take a pitch from Eli on a WR end around and was probably the longest distance I saw him run......his running didn't look as fluid as I'm used to but that might just come in time. Hard to guage his quickness/speed. Cruz also took sort of a late hit after a reception on the sideline and went to the ground hard, then bounced right back up on both legs.
The rookie RB Hunt looks like he could be a player. Some guys just stick out and both his cutting ability and fluidness were impressive to me.
Damontre Moore just sticks out during warmups! Tall and lean, and then very aggressive on the 11-11's. He came to ready to practice yesterday and was very aggressive.
Andre Williams looks like he has improved in the area of pass catching. In practice, he was catching the ball quite well. Of course, game conditions are where you want to see it most.
Shane Vereen carries himself with a vet presense and made a real nice one handed catch from Eli on a dump off over the middle and turned it up field for a nice gain.
The track record of Giants LBS makes me automatically skeptical Â
"NJ.com says Rashad Jennings looks "big, strong, fast and quick" early on at training camp.
Jennings, fully recovered from last year's knee and ankle woes, is turning heads early in camp even though he's 30 years old. Remember this is a versatile player who Ben McAdoo gave 19.2 carries per game to in the first eight weeks of last season. He's a far better option than backup big back Andre Williams and is wildly undervalued at a seventh- or eighth-round ADP right now."
He isn't exactly someone who the league hasn't heard from yet. OBJ play overshadowed his play but for a rookie to miss as much time as he did and to have a good impact is pretty unusual and the Giants got it from two of their rookies last season.
RE: The track record of Giants LBS makes me automatically skeptical Â
that Coughlin doesn't know whether the player has a bum foot or a shoe that doesn't fit, and doesn't care to find out?
"Cornerback Chykie Brown left practice early. 'I’m not sure what it is,' said Coughlin. 'They said something about a foot or possibly a shoe issue or something. Hopefully, that’s it.'"

Can’t be stopped!

When I hear about Moore being lean it makes me wonder if his run defense will be any better,.
