The Three-Eyed Raven is getting a makeover in season six of “Game of Thrones” — Variety has confirmed that Max von Sydow will take over the role, which was originated by Struan Rodger in the season four finale of the HBO drama.
The enigmatic character is responsible for teaching Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) about his supernatural gifts, including his ability to transfer himself into the body of other creatures through the process of “warging.” Although Bran and his allies were absent throughout season five, they are confirmed to be making a return in the new season, which has commenced filming in Europe. |
I hope he's not dead but that seems unlikely now based on what's been reported. I was so invested in that character and feel it would be a major disappointment if his story ended there.

Can't think of a better Euron.
Then you fell for the show's classic trap, which is to first brandish a middle finger at you and then cram that middle finger up your ass.
I swear, the writers modelled Ramsey Bolton after themselves.
From a certain point of view, Jon Snow would be dead.
But in the "Game of Thrones" universe there are ways to bring people back from the dead. We've seen it happen on the show in at least a couple of ways, not even including the White Walkers.
So the question should be "Will Jon Snow stay dead?" I believe the answer to that is going to be "No."
I can't offer spoilers, because I haven't read the books (and the series is caught up to the books, anyway) but here are some guesses from me about where this is all going:
1) Bran will warg more or less permanently into a dragon.
2) The war with the White Walkers will be won with something that breaks all the magic that brings the dead back to life. That will also be the end of back-from-the-dead Jon Snow. Maybe even something that breaks all magic of all kinds.
3) In the new Westeros, without magic, but with dragons at her command, Daenerys may well win the fight for the Iron Throne -- but decline to rule. I expect her to "break the wheel" by ending absolute monarchy and aristocracy and breaking up the noble estates. And melting down the Iron Throne.

Agree.
My personal opinion is the last chapter in the series will be a Bran chapter.
