the effort, especially on the defense, has been nonexistent. The body language is shitty. Not really applicable to the kids, but the vets on this team don't seem to give a shit.

Easy Greg. That was the best team of all time.

Fixed it for you

Yeah, didn't want to go there.
Pinder looks good.

I wonder if he'll come out for the 9th as well.
I like Pinder. I like

They've got KOs on Price, King Felix, Weaver and Hamels too after looking through the earlier schedule.

Interestingly, the one guy who completely dominated us this year to the point where they gave up was Dallas Keuchel in the first game of that Houston series we split

Exactly what they did when Bobby V. was there. Laid down like the dogs that they are. Quitters. Whenever things don't go their way, they abandon ship. Cowards.

Yet, we get it shoved down our throats about how tough and gritty they are. And Papi is the poster child of the misconception.

Weird motion - looks like a lot of strain on the shoulder. I am enjoying all the younger pitchers getting time.
Game's gonna end before 11...almost a record.

Del, I like Pinder too. We've got a bunch of kids knocking on the door for this staff, thankfully.

Cale Coshow I believe

Thanks. Pitching is good but I thought maybe it would be a defensive minded outfielder. Watching Young tonight was not confidence inspiring, nor is Beltran, defense-wise. Might be nice to have a late inning sub.
Whoops....got Cale Coshow and Caleb Cotham mixed up
Greg from LI : 8/4/2015 10:35 pm : link

13-3 final.

This team just continues to pile it on.

:)
It definitely looks like Girardi is holding auditions
dpinzow : 8/4/2015 10:36 pm : link
for the 7th inning. He tried Wilson tonight and got scared of Shreve for some reason on Sunday when he gave up 2 HRs in garbage time. He might try Pinder in that role next because he throws 97-98

The blowouts push the run differential to +70

Random stat I came across earlier today: RHP Jonathan Holder and RHP Rookie Davis rank first and second in the minors with a 2.21 FIP and a 2.24 FIP, respectively. Thats among the 547 pitchers with at least 80 innings pitched. Luis Severino is ninth with a 2.46 FIP. He led the minors with a 2.40 FIP last year. How about that?

thanks. Was listening on radio at time of those wild pitches and wasn't aware of him doing so. That's Sterling and Waldmen for ya

He really is. He hit a shot tonight. 2nd decker.
Severino making his debut in the Bronx tomorrow night.
Dave in Hoboken : 8/4/2015 11:29 pm : link
Holy shit. That's going to be some atmosphere. What an addition this kid could be for us for the rest of this season. Scary.
Chris Young has his limitations
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 8/4/2015 11:30 pm : link
but man is he fun to watch at the plate when he's having a good night.

McCann has been overshadowed a bit by the A-Rod/Teix dual resurgence, but he has been great for us this year. Having all 3 of those big name guys earning their money this year has been awesome.

Hopefully Ellsbury gets going soon.
McCann and Tex are having MVP caliber seasons

Agree on McCann.
Dave in Hoboken : 8/4/2015 11:44 pm : link
Ashamed he gets overshadowed at times, but something tells me he enjoys that and doesn't love the spotlight all to himself at all times.
Gary Sanchez went 3-4 tonight
Dave in Hoboken : 8/5/2015 12:02 am : link
with a 3 run HR. Not bad.
Had to listen
MookGiants : 8/5/2015 1:30 am : link
to a couple innings in the car and Sterling was absolutely awful. Flipping out about Betances throwing breaking balls to Jackie Bradley, screwing up the count on 3 straight hitters and blaming the yankee stadium video board each time, then screwed up the score at one point too. Just awful. You can not listen to the game with him doing it and actually know whats going on because he constantly screws stuff up. It's infuriating.
You have to listen to the crowd noise...
Dunedin81 : 8/5/2015 7:14 am : link
to figure out homerun calls, good defensive plays, etc etc, which is pathetic.
Sawx have mailed it in. It's pathetic. Yanks should pummel them.
Victor in CT : 8/5/2015 7:37 am : link
Yanks announcers are generally awful with the exception of Singy and Flash. I least I feel like I learn something from them. The rest are all pompom waving Steinbrenner sychophants, the king and queen of which are Sterling and Waldman. They are horrid. Sterling at least has a decent voice, but he is blind as Mr. Magoo. Waldman just plain unlistenable.

Mets announcers much better IMO.
Tyler Wade promoted to AA...
Dunedin81 : 8/5/2015 8:39 am : link
presumably Avelino will get SS reps at High A but I guess a Mateo promotion is a possibility.

About time! That Trenton lineup was getting thin on prospects after all the promos.

What are they doing with Culver?

MLBNet had the count wrong a couple of times late in the game also.

Mook it really is a crime. He is un-listenable. If i'm stuck in the car and want to listen I try and find the other team's call on Sirius. He can't even see any more. God forbid its a tricky kind of play, he's clueless at explaining it. Also he can't even be bothered to call the pitches in between him and Susan talking about all the useless shit they babble on about. Unreal that we are stuck with that garbage as Yankee fans.
