I was really impressed with Unga. He shot his gaps well, took great angles to the ball and looked like he can actually play. I hope he finds a way on to the 53. He looks like he can play for real.
One of the standouts of the game for NYG, for sure, and I want to see more of him.
Agreed. We are not going to be able to sneak him onto our practice squad. I doubt he makes the team, so he just made a lot of money for himself in some other major U.S. city....
He needs to start playing with the 2s. He's earned it
Does Unga excel on ST?
Does Unga excel on ST?
I don't know if he excels but he made a couple of special teams tackles last night.
A. Defensive MVP
I think the kid has a shot. He can win a job.
Absolutely. Right now, he's on the team IMO.

So you're saying he's not from Unga?
But, Unga does everything you mentioned Dave. On top of all that, I liked his closing speed. He had a few plays last night where he took the right angle, but still had gorund to cover and he did to make the stop. He is a solid LB to have for depth.
Don't worry, there is zero chance they keep McClain over this guy if things continue to go the way they have. It would be foolish.
This is what has driven me nuts about this team. If they keep Herzlich over a guy like Unga merely because Herzlich can participate on their crappy ST unit... well, that just seems like missing a nice forest for something that they think is a tree but is actually a mailbox.
