Bama - I started watching this when it first aired because my wife wanted to see it, along with New Girl and Mindy Project. I found all mildly entertaining for a few episodes. By the end of the first season all 3 had run out of ideas and sucked, but they are all back for their 3rd or 4th seasons. No explanation.

Yeah Lost was only good when they had you guessing until each viewer reached that (even the ones that didn't like to admit) inevitable corner where you become fully aware that the writers had no clue what they were talking about and it was a pile of shit saga that they just made up as they went along. The show did start strong though, but 5 years later, I still won't admit out in public that I watched that show. Way too embarrassed.

Well that was sort of the interesting dynamic Seinfeld played off of. In the show, Jerry might be a comedian by trade, but he's the straight man for his group of friends.

I always found that setup interesting.

that I really like. I really enjoy Falling Skies and The Last Ship. Falling Skies is running out of ideas, but they're smart enough to wrap-up the plot and pull the plug after this season. The Last Ship is just great drama. Interesting story, good characters and a classic battle between good and evil.

I strongly suggest that you Try it again. Once you get the language down, I think you will find it compelling.

Season 1 was slow developing, but I really liked the end of the season. Last 3 or 4 episodes were great. I watched three episodes of season 2 and gave up.

I really liked the Last Ship. Between the first season and second season I switched from Time Warner to FiOS and my current package does not get TNT. I rented Season 1 quite a while ago to see what I had been missing. It was probably in its 2nd or 3rd season then. Both me and the wife got so bored with it we turned it off after the first four or five episodes. Actually, I stayed for about 5. She got bored with it after about 3.

I won't spoil it for you... as good as the show was then, it gets much better. This show seems to be very adept at plot changes that aren't completely contrived. Some of the military stuff is pure fantasy to me as a Veteran, but it's not so bad that it's distracting. The producers definetly invested a lot of time to getting some of the military details correct. Most of the hardware on that Aegis Destroyer is legitimate... how the employ it sometimes stretches a few boundaries. Of course I'm being highly critical, because the show is really great. I hope you can get caught up -- Season 3 is almost done!

I think it will eventually be up on that list of highly revered shows with universal acclaim, along with Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, and the Wire.

I watched one episode of the Wire, and one episode of Mad Men. They weren't bad per se, but they definitely didn't hook me. I should probably have stuck with the Wire.

If you do and you didn't like Season 1 of the Soprano's it's surprising.

Funny you mention Breaking Bad. My wife and I tried, but just couldn't get into it. Watched 6 episodes and gave up. We didn't hate it, but didn't enjoy it, either.

I finally had a breakthrough and can watch the next episode when they are headed to Norfolk. I feel like I might have missed an episode right before it, but according the the TNT site I have them in order. I hope I can through some more.

It's not my favorite genre, but I enjoyed The Godfather I & II. Never saw Goodfellas. It depends on the story.

My loves all of them. It's not so much I dislike the genre, it's just overkill. I don't want to watch the same program is 15 different flavors.

Am I the only one that think this show is filled with awful acting and is unrealistic? I'd rather watch reality shows if I just wanted to see hot women.

I don't hate HoC but Ive seen it and it's not something I would go out of my way to watch. I think Kevin Spacey tries way to hard to pull off the whole southern thing. And I absolutely hate when he just talks into the camera. Definitely not one of his best works IMO.

Me neither. To me it was a time slot champion. I watched it only because it was on after Seinfeld. Once that ended I rarely if ever watched it and I never watch the reruns ever.

Watched a couple episodes on Netflix, but never kept going. The characters never really resonated with me
