this year. Based on this year, I looked at 5 other teams to see how many players missed playing time. Out of them, the Panthers, Cowboys and Patriots have all had more players miss time with injuries.
Otherwise, there really isn't much of a quantitative way to tell.
"How Eli Manning remains the NFL’s reigning iron man with 167 consecutive starts while playing for this snakebitten franchise is as puzzling as the Giants’ three-year injury blizzard itself."
Sums it up pretty well. The number of injuries has been high, but the distribution of key injuries is not.
The mistake people keep making is that they're trying to blanket injuries with one number.
It doesn't take into account severity, whether the player is significant or camp fodder, whether he is simply sitting out as a precaution, etc.
What's happening is posters are focusing solely on Giants camp and no one else's and are getting frustrated each time we have a player go down with an injury of any degree and so they're searching for any sort of "confirmation" that it's simply worse here than anywhere else even though an accurate number isn't really going to exist.
You'd have to do quite a bit of leg work to get a truly accurate assessment.
is that injuries are clustering around a position. That's really what has killed the Giants the past couple of years. When Andre Williams got significant carries and sometimes was the only healthy back in the game, that's a problem. Our DB's have been decimated as well.
When your starters and depth end up being street guys - that isn't good.
Cruz made it seem like he will be fine for Dallas...
Beason will be back week 1 or shortly there after
Newhouse is fine...
Collins is fine...
berhe is out but really we ahve been talking about him not making the team...
Id much rather have the Giants injuries then all the Cowboys injuries or losing a star WR like the Panthers and Packers...
Ummm you're missing the fact that we lost our top defensive player and starting LT to injuries OFF the field! Now I can't blame THOSE injuries on TC but it just exacerbates the issue.
The Bills have lost quality defensive depth with DL Jairus Wynn and LB Ty Powell now on IR. They don't have talented CB/KR Leodis McKelvin back from last year yet, either. He's a starter if fully healthy, but he won't be suiting up any time soon.
They have many WRs and RBs nicked up, but most of them look like they will be back by opening day. The one real question mark is Chris Hogan, their 3rd WR last season. They are cautiously optimistic that he will be back too, but time will tell.
Overall, the GIANTS situation is worse at this point with Beatty and JPP very questionable for any meaningful contributions this season, Marcus Harris and Mykkele Thompson on IR, and numerous others nicked up or already released including OFA TE Matt LaCosse who has already recovered enough to sign with the Jets.

Bingo. Most of these injuries are manageable. The decimation at S with some CB injuries mixed in is what is troubling.

We can blame injuries on Coughlin? He made Berhe run and injure his calf? He made Cruz tear a tendon? He gave Collins a knee sprain early in a preseason game?
But if you subscribe to the belief that today's nicks and bumps will lead to bigger problems down the road then you would be very worried right now. I don't think it's that bad at all but I could see why someone would be nervous right now.
The Giants are just being cautious with some guys. Can't blame them. Hopefully guys are ready for week 1 and stay out there on the field all season long. Seems every year we make it out of camp and preseason somewhat ok, save for one big ones but then by week 5-6 we are decimated at a position or two. That's always been this team's injury problem in my view.
The pre-season was brutal with JPP and Beatty but We have not had any serious injuries to starting players in camp. Lots of things where players are expected to return.
I am concerned with Richburg and Beason might be more serious than reported A little concerned with Cruz, Randall, and Collins

Being injured and missing part of camp is different then missing the whole season.
That said, I think the strength and conditioning approach needs to be looked at. As does the team trainer

They will more than likely suffer a key injury to Romo or a running back that will ruin their chances.

Cowboys already have a key injury in their secondary losing their best corner...
They also have injuries on the OL...although i think those injuries will allow players to return by week 1

And that may put the whammy on it...

Do we always have to have someone to blame?
