In light of Cespedes impact on the Mets (not giving him total credit just in general) what have been the biggest in-season moves for teams you cheer for?
All of the moves made by Neil Smith before the 94 trade deadline for the Rangers (Matteau, Noonan, McTavish, Larmer). All played big roles during the 94 playoffs.

D'oh! How could I forget the Gartner for Glenn Anderson trade.
the other day I was reading the Times piece on the Messier deal and Neil Smith said he hoped Messier could give them 3-5 seasons... ended up playing 13 more lol
since outside of the Giants, none of my teams has done a damn thing come playoff time since 1994
Obviously MSL had some intangible factors i guess in helping us come back against Pittsburgh in 2014 and put away Montreal (huge game 4 OT goal)... but he more than offset that with the loss of draft picks, sucking this entire postseason, and giving away game 2 against TBL which had me questioning if he was still on their payroll.
What he did was more unexpected and ridiculous, but Justice's contributions were far more important. Spencer's work was on a team cruising to one of the best records of all time.

Also Will Hill returning from suspension to join the 2012 NY Giants.
And for Ravens fans, Will Hill returning from suspension to join the 2015 Baltimore Ravens.

should be:

but it will probably be the 2015 or 2016 Ravens too eventually.
Cody Ross
Marco Scutaro
Javier Lopez
They were all mid season acquisitions.

But not bitter or anything like that.
Before I even clicked the thread, this was my gut reaction.
I would have said Cone the year before but without Fielder the Yanks may have not won in 1996.
Dave Debusschere was the best move the Knicks ever made...Bellamy and Komives for a guy who changed everything for the Knicks.
