Simon had a piece on Cespedes and the hole in his swing vs. lefties. Something to watch going forward especially with Kershaw, Bumgarner, Lester etc as possible opponents.
if we don't sign Cespedes. I hope we make him a fair offer. But I don't want to go crazy for a 30 year old. We all get thirsty over the "names" but guys in their 30s just don't play well for 6 or 7 years in the post-steroid era anymore. It just doesn't happen. It will almost assuredly end up a bad deal for us. Look no further than our own David Wright. Love the guy but his contract is going to be terrible ifs not already.
reasonable. He has us re-signing Murphy at 12 million a year and Cespedes for 25 million per. Plus re-signing Blevins... He also factors in the entire 40 man where Sandy only factors in about 5-10 extra. Anyways...
Here it is, the projected 2016 Mets payroll for w/Cespedes -$137million
is even with Murphy and Cespedes the payroll is only around 135. You subtract Murphy and now your down to 123 million. The payroll right now is around 116. Your basically right there. Its very doable. And this is very conservative offering more than we probably even would.
The 7th should be Robles. Verrett has been good but he's gone from starting to relieving all in a week. I wouldn't have had him in such a crucial spot so early.
Prevost's K rate sucks, 0 homers allowed though... Koch 2.0? lol
Gotta believe he's a SP for the 2016 Cyclones

this will be a good test.

Hanley Ramirez is scratched from Sox lineup; Jackie Bradley Jr in left

addition by subtraction for the Red Sox, Hanley has been a disaster, and JBJ is on fire (or was, haven't kept up)
I read about that, that's crazy
was thinking the same thing
Uh. All of them?
He's been getting his teeth kicked in lately.
At this point, I'm glad they signed none of them.
I also wanted to sign Scherzer and Lester.
They need to tell Wright to cool it with the aggressive base running until the World Series.

Soon as the Flores trade fell through the Karma Gods have been on our side. ;) God is a Flores fan.
