Former Giants S Stevie Brown released by Texans

Not saying to being him in but, considering all our injuries I think he might get a phone call.

Brown couldn't get off the roster fast enough for many people. Now they want him back?

Hey! I know his name!!!

Is it possible that the people who wanted him gone and the people who want him back are different people?
Perhaps I'm just a cynic

But I would put him on Speer dial because we will probably lose at least one more Safety tomorrow.
Does he walk
bluesince56 : 8/28/2015 8:07 pm : link
without a limp?
He can't cover, and he can't tackle

no thanks.

Neither can the empty jerseys projected to play now.
Collins will be fine
JonC : 8/28/2015 8:26 pm : link
You want Stevie whiffing tackle after tackle at SS? Plays like Jane. I'd take my chances with Meriweather and watch the wire.

Good point.
Guys, if doesn't matter who they get

But to argue that Stevie Brown is better or worse than the other players to be named later is kind of meaningless.

You all need more alcohol.

Soon we will be calling Terrell

Thomas to come out of retirement
the Giants have decided to go with their youth
gidiefor : Mod : 8/28/2015 8:39 pm : link
otherwise they would have signed Osi - I seriously doubt they bring Stevie Brown in
Brown's knee is still in question,
Doomster : 8/28/2015 9:50 pm : link
but there is no question about the space between his ears....I was a big fan of his last year, until I saw mistake after mistake, in his decision making process....the guy just did not have a clue out there,,,

Maybe the knee is better....maybe it helps him recover from a mistake.....and maybe he is the best that is available out there? I don't know.....but if he would make the team, it just shows you how badly the situation is....
Who knows
jgambrosio : 8/28/2015 11:14 pm : link
he was good at getting lucky and being in areas to get picks. maybe in spags' defense, if we get a pass rush, the qb will be forced to throw up a few prayers or ducks and he can get lucky again.
If we lose another Safety tomorrow
Dave in Hoboken : 8/28/2015 11:42 pm : link
(which is very possible), I actually wouldn't put it past them to bring him in.

Right. Just like JPP doesn't know the D. Giants in same boat with him.

Not entirely true. Craig Dahl played for him with both the Giants and Rams.
You bring him in & either he adds to the almost

non-existent safety depth or after Spags seeing him in practice, you cut him. There is no downside to this & it doesn't preclude the Giants searching the waiver wire on Tuesday & Saturday to bring in someone who they perceive is better!

at the very least.. cut him if it doesn't work out.
Great ....

Let bring in another injury prone, mediocre DB. It’s not like we don’t have a lot of that already.
No thanks
SanFranNowNCGiantsFan : 8/29/2015 9:56 am : link
Provided there are no more injuries (who am I kidding?), I'd start Collins & Taylor. And if not Taylor, go with Miles. He was with Spags in Baltimore.
How can it hurt to bring him in?
Vanzetti : 8/29/2015 12:14 pm : link
What better option is out there.

There is a tendency to think an unknown player is better than a guy like Brown because you have seen him make bad plays. But that is not necessarily the case.

I would consider
RetroJint : 8/29/2015 1:47 pm : link
bringing him back. The system will still be zone-heavy. Collins & Merriweather as a tandem does not work for me & although I like Taylor, he is showing up on the injured list way too much to count on. As I recall, his grade on PFF was much better than Demps & Rolle (not saying much), and he did some fine work as a gunner on specials.
