in the bottom of the 10th, Tazawa gave up a base hit, got a double play where he almost threw it into center field and Bogaerts saved him with a brilliant turn, then walked four straight hitters after appearing to pull a muscle on his throw to short for the DP. When they finally realized that Tazawa was hurting, they waited until after he walked Granderson to bring in Breslow to face Cespedes. They got very lucky when Cespedes flied out to deep center to end it
if they had the team all year that they do now they would have a very good shot.
They would not have survived in the AL East through the all star break where they kind of were just treading water.
But make no mistake about it, the team they have right now if they had it all season would be good enough.
The division helped them significantly until they made their moves at the deadline, but the team now is very good
The NL is top-heavy. I agree with the team the Mets have currently they'd have a good shot to make it had they played in the AL East but hypothetically, playing against the Torontos, Yankees and the rest of the AL constantly would have put them below .500 before the trade deadline
The six worst teams by record are all in the NL (Atlanta, Miami, Philly, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, and Colorado). Oakland has the worst record in the AL but the 7th worst record in baseball
or the Twinkies.....
Good move by Joe getting Mitchell back into the games without pressure. Let him get over the injury.
You could make the argument that the 3 worst teams in the league are all in that division.

I don't know if they would make the playoffs if they played in our division
