That's certainly not a function of not trying. They drafted Manual. He just isn't very good.
People can laud Reese til the cows come home but he's had some big misses in the draft and his cap managing has been lacking. Huge reasons for lack of depth. Also he was handed Eli. Maybe that hurt his cap flexability but that's his fault due to so many misses in the draft 3-5 years ago
A 7th round pick last year that only managed to play 7 games his rookie of year for the crappy Raiders, and ammassed a whole 4 total tackles. He's a bum, pass.
I hate seeing the maturity stuff but this is a talented player. He was one of the players I would've drafted last in one of those 'If I were the GM' type threads (I think I posted it in Sy's thread).
Maybe leaving an organization like the Raiders and coming to one like the Giants will be good. Maybe he needs a change of scenery. Maybe this was an eye opener. And tbh maybe it won't be. Nonsense aside though he has more athletic talent than any safety on our roster.
Give him a serious talking to, the rest is up to him and his skills.
So people on. Bigraiderinteractive freak out that they let him go

In fact, Buffalo is deep pretty much everywhere, showing that it can be done even in the current environment.
