in the NFL. I mean EVERYONE except for Eli are a bunch of glass bodied wimps. I've never seen a team who just keeps year after year fielding the most fragile players they can find. The few that aren't aside from Eli are awful. The Jets just making it look EASY. Like a HS team against a pro. Pathetic.
Has any opponent had difficulty scoring against this defense? Has the Giants' starting offense had any success against any defense? The Giants make their opponents--all of them--look like superstars.
I know he is coaching with morons and talentless players but without a few probowl players his defense is nothing special. I can see this team tanking and Mara finally cleaning house. TC, Spags, That goofball OC we have, and probably Eli unless he performs some kind of miracle this year. It's going to be sad but probably overdue.
there's just no talent in the secondary outside of Prince and DRC. Hopefully Collins comes on strong over the season, but it's a massive ask given the limited talent/experience at slot CB and the rest of the safeties.
...is fooling only the fan base into thinking this team can score against anyone. I hate that play he opened this game with where Eli does a naked bootleg to the right. It never works.
team has no big play WR except for Beckham. Everyone else is basically a possession WR. And our TEs our similarly limited. Teams will take away Beckham as best they can with double coverage, and keep everything else in front of them.
Oh man, leave Schwartz at RG. He is so much better there and get Beatty back ASAP. Eli and the offense best preseason drive in some time. Look very impressive with the amount of guys out injured.
drive. Would like to see some big play capability. There were a lot of conservative plays. That's fine, but it's hard to go on ten to twelve play drives regularly.
Cousins threw a terrible INT, and just fumbled a snap.

I think they're still working on some things. Also the short game will open things up deep when CBs and safeties bite.
we are looking more and more like his defense- in New Orleans/
I know, I have a bad feeling that we took a few steps backwards with his signing, I know I am in the minority but I wasn't that excited about resigning him.
Anyway, defense was absolutely horrendous on that drive once again. Wynn has not looked good, Kuhn getting manhandled and the safeties are totally out of position and not making plays.
We lead the league in giving up big plays last year
no ...he doesnt. he looks so stupid sometimes making rookie mistakes. how did he not see him sitting there? its unbelievably pathetic that hes been playing in the nfl for 11 + years sometimes. hes pathetic.
in the pre-season but hopefully that changes come week 1. We've seen it happen before, but it's tough to be optimistic after just watching so much dead weight playing important roles
but the Jints are getting carved up be Ryan Fitzpatrick and the offense is abysmal, I am asking when is it time to panic. Keep in mind I have been a fan since 1955 and have seen some of the worst football imaginable.
But yeah, Donnell has been unable to get any separation tonight. To me he has played like someone who should be on the bubble but he has last season I guess.
It will be well before Thanksgiving.
But not to worry, we will lock up Manning shortly for another 4 years...This is not Mannings fault, but when someone gets $20 million dollars per year exceptional things are supposed to happen.....
But can see the mistakes (which is constant in if not in one area, it's in another) and STILL working to get people in right areas, and of course injuries, leads me to believe it could wind up 5 to 6 win season. I'D be shocked if 9 or 10
Nope I'm not getting getting sucked into the preseason
nonsense. Seen the Giants go 6-0 in preseason and go 3-13. Seen them go 0-5 and win a Super Bowl. Nope it's preseason and it don't mean shit. My comments are only about THIS game. This has nothing to do do good or bad with the regular season.
couldn't hold edge on runs and all 4 DBs look confused. Jenkins invisible, Moore makes tackle when runner slips to ground
On offense, Pugh playing terribly, Robinson runs in quicksand, geremy Davis invisible, no Cruz, Randle and no sight of Donnell- not much for Eli to look at for passes
looked ok on the scoring drive. Mixed it up and went 85 for six.
Odd how the timing between Beckem amd Eli seems so off.
That pick was classic Eli, I think he even thinks before the snap, I am going to let it rip no matter what. Game is a practice game anyway let's make a play. I am not absolving him, but I will not lose sleep over it either.Sure would like Giants DB to make a play like that pick six.

Unfortunately, there's really nothing you could hang your hat on and be optimistic about. I've seen nothing from this team so far in pre-season. Nothing at all to get excited about and say perhaps we can be good. Way too much uncertainty, inconsistent play and lack of physicality.
It's just trying to find a fall guy to take the blame off Manning......Manning is showing why he is not a top 10 QB in this league, lets stop about lackluster receivers, let's stop with an OL that can't block, lets stop with Gilbride.
Eli needs to look in the mirror.
Until that interception Eli was going strong. At one point he was 10-11. That interception was bad throw, bad play call, and poor effort by the WR. That WR is no match for Antonio anyway. I wonder if Cruz or even RR would have come back to the ball. Also the one to Beckham when he had Revis beat could have thrown better of course. Otherwise, the timing has really improved.
The rest of the offense looks improved as well. Flowers is a beast on that left side. We have to straighten out the right side though. I wonder how we would do with a dominant RT but I don't know what Reese would have to do to get one at this point. Even if/when Beatty comes back he'll need time to shake the rust off. Jennings looked good out there and so did Vereen. We have a screen game again.
As for the defense, Prince needs to shake some rust off. I expect the defense to do poorly well into the season. It's a new defense. We went 0-2 into the season last time Spags started as our DC. It will take time. Our safety situation is really really bad and we desperately need some pass rush. We are giving offenses all day to throw the ball.
Finally got meaningful action against starters and got tossed around on every play but one. Looking OK vs bums is all well and good but he was shit tonight, absolute shit.
Steve Weatherford may be facing battle here. Malone now holding.
Weatherford has been off for a while now. Never had the biggest leg and it looks like he's topping out in the 40-45 yard range with pretty average hang time.
Yeah, Bromley looked like the most productive DT in the first half
I don't know where that getting "tossed around" stuff was when I was watching the 1st half. When he and Ellis were in the game the Jets running game halted and got some licks put on them.

Lets just go back to 2013 ... finished up pre-season with 3 straight losses and began regular season with 6 straight losses. But that's too simple. More often than not the W/L record does not necessarily reflect the quality of play. Over the past few years they've had a pattern of the starters stinking it up and the backups come in and win the game. So a winning record in Preseason could be an illusion. The pre-season record means nothing, its the pre-season performance by your starters that may mean something.
Specials could be a real boost this year, but other then Brown, I don't see it.
It's strange, there's been bunch of guys brought in who've been noted for stellar specials play either at college or at their previous NFL teams, but we look about the same as always which isn't great.
No. And that coupled with bad safety play is going to make this a long year for the defense. On the other side of the ball, we don't seem to have any big play capability except for Beckham.
back on the field on running downs. Think the Giants are taking a long look at him. Wynn needs to get more pressure.
Maybe trying to increase his trade value but seriously I thought starters would get a lot of action tonight since next week it will mostly be guys that most likely will be cut.
I'd be extremely surprised...it's starting to look like it will be a long year and we haven't even played game 1 yet. I just hope we don't get embarrassed in Dallas.

I don't think the Cowboys have looked too great, either. The team that can humiliate the Giants, IMO, is Philadelphia.
So, we cant tackle a guy because the punt goes to the middle of the field? I am so tired of that nonsense. Yes, kicking it to the sideline HELPS your coverage team. However, it should never mean that kicking to the center of the field should result in a big return consistently.
I see us RECEIVING punts in the middle of the field all of the time. Why aren't those being returned for a score... or even for a huge gain?

They are at it again, they had like 25 points in first quarter and Bradford was 10-10. But it is only preseason

I wouldn't be so sure. We're playing on a Sunday night in Dallas. I think the Eagles will also have their way with us, but it's just ugly, can't even find some optimism.
I don't think the Cowboys have looked too great, either. The team that can humiliate the Giants, IMO, is Philadelphia.
this path of patchwork veteran fixing is not good enough.
What a stupid comment.
Really, TCs to blame?
How about Reese and Marc Ross/the scouting department?
How about filling the roster with the "JPP" of tight ends?
TC singlehandedly handcuffed McAdoo last year, when we had leads against SEA and DAL, during pivotal moments in the season.
This team needs new life.
It needs a leader, and TC is just too old now to lead this guy. They no doubt love him as a HC, but he's no longer effective at exactly that-- Coaching.
We need a guy whose going to breathe life into this team so that we can cover up some of these awful holes we have.

I agree I think Reese, Ross, TC, Spags, McAdoo, everyone...... they all need to go. I love TC but he has ran his course, it's over.
It was over in 2013, our owners started believing how great they were for keeping him. We were 9-7 in 2011, it has been a long time since we have played good football. I thought we were a better team in 2010 than 2011.

the greatest mistake Mara made was constantly giving TC 1 year extensions.
It's over,
what evidence do we have that this is a 10-6 team?
But the offense looks average at best (and that's being kind).
But the defense may be historically bad - worse than any of us ever imagined. So bad that we may find ourselves measuring defensive successes by whether or not the other team had to punt at least once per game.
RE: I can't get the game up here in the middle of the Adirondacks.
Offense stinks, Defense stinks, Special teams stink. By the way, the injury excuse does not work for offense. Beatty, who stinks, has been replaced by the best lineman on the team, in Flowers. The defense stinks, and that is not just because of the safety situation. Specials have no excuse. Team just stinks.
I'm eagerly awaiting the verbal contortions some people will put themselves through in order to avoid putting any blame whatsoever on St. Tom.
There is no doubt he is a good coach, but he is far from a dominant or elite coach. Our Super Bowl years weren't great seasons, 2007 was a good season, 2011 was a mediocre season. I thought his three best regular seasons were 2008, 2005, 2007. It is 2015. We won Super Bowls with him and that's great, but we are keeping him way beyond his sell date as a reward. That is fine, but don't anyone try to tell me he doesn't share blame in this.
when it is clearly the talent level. Lets put a 10 finger JPP back on the field and also Beatty. Now, how much better is this team realistically. Marginally better at best.
So, what coach do you want to bring in now? Who exactly is going to turn this bunch of misfit toys into a championship team?
would like to see Ellis starting with Hankins. Would also like to see Owa starting with Ayers.
Mclain is awful they need Beason.
Would like to see Cooper Taylor play against a first unit.
The starting front 4 tonight couldnt win games in the SEC let alone the NFL. its an embarrassing unit.

I am not really impressed with the talent level in Philly and they have won 20 games in th last two years.

Good lines, good skill positions at least the last two years outside of QB

helps to have an awesome OLine. peters, kelce, johnson, mathis.... I know some of them missed games... but they are excellent players.
But I'm not sure why Prince gets so much love. I think he's an average corner, at best.
Prince is "ok". I am not worried at all when I see him out there. However, the opposition does not fear him at all and he is not a difference maker. Nothing wrong with that BTW.
Like Ross, Prince also has not played up to his draft position. When you take a guy that high you expect him to be a little more than average.
But I don't know who is making real decisions here anymore. You have Chris Mara at the Kentucky Derby during the draft, Chris Snee (is he still on the payroll and what is his job description WTF) breaking down OL prospects with Flaherty , you have executive scouts and assistant coaches making day 3 calls on players they like. I can't imagine this was normal during Wellington Mara days with George Young.
Were embarrassing, Carolina 2 years ago the week that TC lost his brother...the team did not respond....The Baltimore game 2 Decembers ago, John Mara spoke of how embarrassed he was.
The Cincinnati game the year of Sandy.....team never showed up....I recall a New Orleans shit show as well as Seattle and other non-competitive games.
But I'm not sure why Prince gets so much love. I think he's an average corner, at best.

and I have a feeling we are going to pick some people up off the waiver wire. We've got some holes and the people we have are not adequate to fill those positions.

They had s good offensive line, no doubt, but it was banged up last year and they still won. qb is a pretty big position and Riley Cooper was second receiver both years. And, of course, they had miserable defenses and talent on defense
Yea, I've watched every snap of every pre-season and regular season game for over 50 years ... pre-season win/loss records are always meaningless ... but anyone with any kind of football sense has always been able to see evidence of the existence of talent (or lack thereof) during pre-season games ... LT was LT ... Banks was Banks ... Bavaro was Bavaro .. and the 1970s were the 1970s - and sadly, there was more talent in the 1970s than there is now
Where did I say they were a good football team? All I said is I'll wait till October
One thing I will say in support of what you just said...
I can remember sitting in my seats mid season in 2007 saying this team sucks and they have no shot. We won the Superbowl. So, yes a team can put it together.
Reality is that team had more talent but was just underachieving during a stretch that year.

if you could tell me the seasons they were favored and fell apart and the seasons they weren't expected to contend and won a Super Bowl. You are talking out of your ass
I have been extremely critical of him over the past couple of years. Maybe 6 months ago (or less) I said he would never be a quality starting QB in this league.
From what I am seeing so far this pre season, he seems to be improving and he can move the team. Would like to see him in there with the #1 unit. Unfortunately we will not get that chance.
if you could tell me the seasons they were favored and fell apart and the seasons they weren't expected to contend and won a Super Bowl. You are talking out of your ass
But it sounds like that's a good thing. Maybe this is the year to take a pass on this team. Get back into it when our top 5 draft choice becomes a certainty.

Were they really favored in 2008? I recall that they were disrespected even as SB champs and Dallas was picked to win the division. I remember a lot of Giants players kept making that point throughout 2008. I think they exceeded everyone expectation and then Plax shot himself.
Nassib makes our score, irrelevant as it might be, respectable. Good passing helped by his excellent mobility. It seems our backups have played better against opposing backups than our first string against opposing first string. If TC allows young players to play more and develop, by mid-season our team could improve significantly.
is going to be a superstar with this team. I hope they don't put him on the practice squad; he won't stay there for long.
What about the JPP of tight e
ands?
I hope the JPP of TEs does not beat out Cunningham. The politics of management, however, sometimes dictates keeping higher draft picks over better players.
biggest problem, need to go outside the org for a new and fresh perspective.young to accorsi to reese, all in house guys.its not working at this point in time.

Not with this organization. They're more likely to dig up George Young.

Just as bad or worse in the preseason last year. at 3-2 nobody was talking preseason. Team will improve with time. Habe to manage the early part of the season
This preseason shit show is the real thing....The defense figures to be the worst unit, but the offense won't be able to rush the ball because we don't have the horses up front, that is a bad combination

Everyone thinsk they are disrespected.
SEA always plays that card
No I mean the majority of the sports writers really did disrespect them by picking Dallas to win the 2008 NFC East.
The more I realize this is a pretty awful football team.
Maybe we get lucky and Eli goes off this season and carries us into the playoffs. If not, it's time for a franchise reboot. This team, especially the defense, it's fucking awful. Jaguar level awful, just with Eli and a great receiver.
There are some just god awful players taking up a lot of valuable prime space on our depth chart.

Not sure of the relevance of that. We stunk last season. Oh that's right, it was all injuries.

This team is the streakiest football unit: they string wins and losses. Recall the seasons with 6-2 starts? In the past two we start out with essentially (long) losing streaks and more or less win out. I wonder how it will start this year.
like dude, man, dude it was like, you know, 4 years ago. dude, you may need, like, you know, a calculator...dude.
listen,4 yrs in football are like dog years,so its been like 28yrs dude.
You never understood the point of the original post. Does not matter what year it was you narrow minded hot dog eating (on a cold day) sub par Giants fan. The point was that it was a season where the team at some point looked absolutely awful and yet they managed to put it all together to win the Superbowl. So, yes it is just pre-season and anything can happen....because it happens in this game no matter what year.

RE: RE: will we play meaningful games after thanksgiving
Too into the game. However don t get most preseason games live so decided to watch NFL Channel and BBI for live updates.
Have to say bbi was very entertaining, hysterical and silly at times, but entertaining.
My only take on the game is in line with Headhunter and others whose sentiment is, It s only preseason and no indicator of the regular season for many reasons.
Fans often overreact to the last play they see when evaluating a player or team this game thread is a great example of that
RE: will we play meaningful games after thanksgiving
Injury Update: DE Robert Ayers suffered an ankle injury during warmups and is not expected to play #NYJvsNYG
Injury Update: DE Robert Ayers suffered an ankle injury during warmups and is not expected to play #NYJvsNYG
Who are our starting DEs in week 1?
NYG: S Stevie Brown to arrive tomorrow. Team expects him to take physical & sign. #giants #nfl
#Giants DE Robert Ayers is on the sideline, by the way. No ice, brace or anything on either of his ankles. Still in full uniform. #NYG
Seems to be standard operating procedure here.
This
They play us and they look great hahah
And this is a dress rehearsal?!
Its just preseason.......
It doesn't matter who you focus on, you are going to be disappointed.
They have more negative than positive yardage.
I doubt it.
Nothing new
Not if the sit RG3. We better hope he starts those game!
Quote:
Gone
I doubt it.
Gone for the play.
By a guy we had as a back up a few years ago.
Last I checked, McAdoo didn't commit illegal hands to the face or whiff on a block.
I hope the shit gets worked out in time for the regular season.
Yes.
Ex-Jet Kenrick Ellis is on with Hankins, Kerry Wynn and Owa Odighizuwa on this defensive line.
Why? Obviously they need work!
Quote:
At least his calls get that extra five yards for the punter on each short series!

No, he's not on the field. He's off the field calling silly plays that, even if successful, scare no one.
and it begins.
Nothing you can do scheme-wise when you don't have the horses up front to rush the QB
He's looked good against the run.
Looks like shit smells like shit
Its shit
I don't think the Giants offensive 1st team scored a TD in preseason since 2013.
7 - 0.
Here comes Cousins.
Unfortunately, that's the way it's looking in pre-season. They have a lot of work to do still.
;-)
Eli was smart enough to rush back to the line and run a play quickly though...so Eli made it a catch before anyone could throw a challenge
I understood what you meant. He caught the ball, it just wasn't a legal catch in the game, but the actual catch was nice! :)
He is a great run blocker, it is so obvious
Flowers drive him on runs and he's not even moving Flowers on the
pass plays
I liiike it ....
Yeah, he's been a bright spot.
Doubt it. They have not looked that good other then that drive. I think starters will continue to the half still.
Cousins threw a terrible INT, and just fumbled a snap.
Cousins threw a terrible INT, and just fumbled a snap.
I think they're still working on some things. Also the short game will open things up deep when CBs and safeties bite.
Wtf is up with the late hit there?!
Still. No. Pressure.
Do you think you can let the kid work his way back for christ sakes.
Quote:
Is he #21? Likes to wait for the play rather then go after it.

No
Yeah, you're right...Wynn is #72 and he lost contain there
Once again no pass rush and Fitzpatrick has enough time to do his taxes, read War and Peace, and find Decker inside the 30
Folk misses the longer PAT
I know, I have a bad feeling that we took a few steps backwards with his signing, I know I am in the minority but I wasn't that excited about resigning him.
Meriweather is from the U, they always produce good safeties and even he's got football knowledge from there
Dwayne Harris ALMOST broke that
He has to be the weakest DT I seen in some time. I'm amazed at how often he gets stonewalled at the point of action.
Anyway, defense was absolutely horrendous on that drive once again. Wynn has not looked good, Kuhn getting manhandled and the safeties are totally out of position and not making plays.
I think everyone else was running to the ball at that point. He was still engaged.
Tiki
Quality post.
Oh shut the fuck up. Revis was beaten all ends up.
To be fair to Collins, he made the bonehead move immediately after the snap before the slip.

Run for 1, run for 3, pass for 60. This is Gilbride again.

Bluecocc: yeah, you're right a-hole.
Unga and Thomas LB here on 3rd and long. Kennard not on field. Clear Giants are putting bubble guys in positions to evaluate.
Bullshit...That throw was the right choice but Eli put it over the wrong shoulder...otherwise it is a TD.
Giants get a stop on 3rd down. Colon tries to start a fight, fortunately there are no flags

You're right. The drive is over, though.
When have they looked special under the Mighty Quinn?
Would other QB's do it?
This team is going to be 6-10 at best.
no ...he doesnt. he looks so stupid sometimes making rookie mistakes. how did he not see him sitting there? its unbelievably pathetic that hes been playing in the nfl for 11 + years sometimes. hes pathetic.
This team is going to be 6-10 at best.
Throw a bomb on 3rd and 4 with 3 minutes. Throw 5 yarder for pick six with 19 seconds.
This team is going to be 6-10 at best.
I agree, 6-10 would be a win at this point.
McAdoo and Eli both get a thumbs down on that one
but that's what preseason is for--to work out the kinks
Team has no down field threat except for Beckham.
No pass rush.
Still crashing in on simple screens. Not keeping contain. Same problem as last year. People not playing their assignments.
Bad safety play.
Not impressed by the OL in terms of run blocking, except for Flowers.
Not a good pre-season fo Eli ... so far.
what the fuck are you talking about? mind your own fucking business, dude

Take a look at any of the threads he's posted on in the last few days. Obvious troll.
But not to worry, we will lock up Manning shortly for another 4 years...This is not Mannings fault, but when someone gets $20 million dollars per year exceptional things are supposed to happen.....
eric... just watch his posts in the future. the guy has no purpose here.
He's either a troll or just a complete schmuck. Take your pick
He deserves better.
He admitted in earlier thread as "to be really not as much a giants fan" js
On offense, Pugh playing terribly, Robinson runs in quicksand, geremy Davis invisible, no Cruz, Randle and no sight of Donnell- not much for Eli to look at for passes
We know the defense is going to be bad.
The offense has to carry this team.
But the offense looks average at best (and that's being kind).
D looks horrible.
D looks horrid,
The defense is terrible and the offense isn't much better.
I really don't see anything in their game to think this is going to be a competitive team. I don't see any improvement from last year.
Please make this one of those preseasons where the team totally sucks then plays well in the regular season. Does anybody think it's possible?
This...
Also curious, does anyone know where Jets qb played his college ball?
Unfortunately, there's really nothing you could hang your hat on and be optimistic about. I've seen nothing from this team so far in pre-season. Nothing at all to get excited about and say perhaps we can be good. Way too much uncertainty, inconsistent play and lack of physicality.
Simply not true
Going on 4 fucking years of shit football.
Just blows.
Eli needs to look in the mirror.
Yes. If you still need to evaluate Kuhn at this point I don't care if you are a coach, personnel guy, owner, reporter or fan then you need evaluation.
We are giving offenses all day to throw the ball.
offense looks like it's going to be ok between the 20yd lines
I just dont see it, sorry.
We could catch fire, find 1 or 2 or 3 concepts that become difficult to defend, but I dont see a 10-6 team at all.
We look exactly like we have the last 3 years: No depth, no dominance on either side of the ball.
Weatherford has been off for a while now. Never had the biggest leg and it looks like he's topping out in the 40-45 yard range with pretty average hang time.
Nassib seems to be dealing with the same issues right now.

Hang time was good on the muffed punt
Don't say that his hamstrings will hear you.
"Oh please"?
Lets just go back to 2013 ... finished up pre-season with 3 straight losses and began regular season with 6 straight losses. But that's too simple. More often than not the W/L record does not necessarily reflect the quality of play. Over the past few years they've had a pattern of the starters stinking it up and the backups come in and win the game. So a winning record in Preseason could be an illusion. The pre-season record means nothing, its the pre-season performance by your starters that may mean something.
Maybe trying to increase his trade value but seriously I thought starters would get a lot of action tonight since next week it will mostly be guys that most likely will be cut.
Depends what you mean by close?! Arms length, hand length or just see him?
nothing like beaten in every phase of teh game
Oh no that takes me back to those Eli memes of Life in Hoboken.
I like the Sandy theory. Time to move camp back to Bear Mountain.

Really, TCs to blame?
How about Reese and Marc Ross/the scouting department?
How about filling the roster with the "JPP" of tight ends?
I don't think the Cowboys have looked too great, either. The team that can humiliate the Giants, IMO, is Philadelphia.
So, we cant tackle a guy because the punt goes to the middle of the field? I am so tired of that nonsense. Yes, kicking it to the sideline HELPS your coverage team. However, it should never mean that kicking to the center of the field should result in a big return consistently.
I see us RECEIVING punts in the middle of the field all of the time. Why aren't those being returned for a score... or even for a huge gain?

TC singlehandedly handcuffed McAdoo last year, when we had leads against SEA and DAL, during pivotal moments in the season.
This team needs new life.
It needs a leader, and TC is just too old now to lead this guy. They no doubt love him as a HC, but he's no longer effective at exactly that-- Coaching.
We need a guy whose going to breathe life into this team so that we can cover up some of these awful holes we have.

It was over in 2013, our owners started believing how great they were for keeping him. We were 9-7 in 2011, it has been a long time since we have played good football. I thought we were a better team in 2010 than 2011.

the greatest mistake Mara made was constantly giving TC 1 year extensions.

None.

But the defense may be historically bad - worse than any of us ever imagined. So bad that we may find ourselves measuring defensive successes by whether or not the other team had to punt at least once per game.
I wish my cable went out. This has been torture
God damn YOU
Be thankful you're not seeing this. It's ugly.
That's really bad news. Hart was looking to be a prospect.
I bet they put him on IR.
How about we just stop drafting guys who are slow as hell?
Injury Update: Guard Bobby Hart is doubtful to return with a knee injury #NYJvsNYG
Try it today against Rodgers, Wilson, Luck, etc.

Mara will never make a change if the Giants win 7 or more games. They will use injuries again as a reason to give everyone another chance.
I remember last year Mara so excited to tell us how they use GPS now to help with the health of their players. Still trying to figure that one out.
Yeah we will just be upset that we are 0-2. Please give me one reason for optimism based on anything you have seen from the starters in the preseason

helps to have an awesome OLine. peters, kelce, johnson, mathis.... I know some of them missed games... but they are excellent players.
Prince is "ok". I am not worried at all when I see him out there. However, the opposition does not fear him at all and he is not a difference maker. Nothing wrong with that BTW.
Like Ross, Prince also has not played up to his draft position. When you take a guy that high you expect him to be a little more than average.
Do you pay people on past performance or future performance.
there's a clear trend established for this team, that goes back to even before the 2011 superbowl.

WOW!! I mean come on man.
On the Jets td there was nobody within 15 yards of the guy when he made the catch.
One thing I will say in support of what you just said...
I can remember sitting in my seats mid season in 2007 saying this team sucks and they have no shot. We won the Superbowl. So, yes a team can put it together.
Reality is that team had more talent but was just underachieving during a stretch that year.

I truly hope that McAdoo has been holding back this preseason because a lot of the play calling has been suspect as well.
From what I am seeing so far this pre season, he seems to be improving and he can move the team. Would like to see him in there with the #1 unit. Unfortunately we will not get that chance.

Maybe we get lucky and Eli goes off this season and carries us into the playoffs. If not, it's time for a franchise reboot. This team, especially the defense, it's fucking awful. Jaguar level awful, just with Eli and a great receiver.

The point was that it was a season where the team at some point looked absolutely awful and yet they managed to put it all together to win the Superbowl. So, yes it is just pre-season and anything can happen....because it happens in this game no matter what year.
thanks for playin,drive home safe.

With that offensive line, the question should be, does Eli make it to thanksgiving?
Have to say bbi was very entertaining, hysterical and silly at times, but entertaining.
My only take on the game is in line with Headhunter and others whose sentiment is, It s only preseason and no indicator of the regular season for many reasons.
Fans often overreact to the last play they see when evaluating a player or team this game thread is a great example of that
Thanksgiving? Hell, how about Halloween?
If they win the first regular season game, they will be super bowl favorites.
