But I don't know who is making real decisions here anymore. You have Chris Mara at the Kentucky Derby during the draft, Chris Snee (is he still on the payroll and what is his job description WTF) breaking down OL prospects with Flaherty , you have executive scouts and assistant coaches making day 3 calls on players they like. I can't imagine this was normal during Wellington Mara days with George Young.
Were embarrassing, Carolina 2 years ago the week that TC lost his brother...the team did not respond....The Baltimore game 2 Decembers ago, John Mara spoke of how embarrassed he was.
The Cincinnati game the year of Sandy.....team never showed up....I recall a New Orleans shit show as well as Seattle and other non-competitive games.

They had s good offensive line, no doubt, but it was banged up last year and they still won. qb is a pretty big position and Riley Cooper was second receiver both years. And, of course, they had miserable defenses and talent on defense
Yea, I've watched every snap of every pre-season and regular season game for over 50 years ... pre-season win/loss records are always meaningless ... but anyone with any kind of football sense has always been able to see evidence of the existence of talent (or lack thereof) during pre-season games ... LT was LT ... Banks was Banks ... Bavaro was Bavaro .. and the 1970s were the 1970s - and sadly, there was more talent in the 1970s than there is now

I can remember sitting in my seats mid season in 2007 saying this team sucks and they have no shot. We won the Superbowl. So, yes a team can put it together.
Reality is that team had more talent but was just underachieving during a stretch that year.

I have been extremely critical of him over the past couple of years. Maybe 6 months ago (or less) I said he would never be a quality starting QB in this league.
From what I am seeing so far this pre season, he seems to be improving and he can move the team. Would like to see him in there with the #1 unit. Unfortunately we will not get that chance.

But it sounds like that's a good thing. Maybe this is the year to take a pass on this team. Get back into it when our top 5 draft choice becomes a certainty.
Prince is a nice player, above average #2 corner
The problem is that he is not a playmaker.
You dont give fat contracts to players who dont playmake.

If you've watched this team over the last ten years, this would be called the norm.
I truly hope that McAdoo has been holding back this preseason because a lot of the play calling has been suspect as well.
