Can't worry about Toronto right now. They literally have lost about 4 games all month. They are scoring like 8 runs a game and barely giving up any. This is getting to be like '84 Tigers type stuff. You can't compete with that. The encouraging thing is we have been the only team to limit that offense lately.

but it is beginning to feel as if, just maybe, the Yankee hitting slump has eased. And this is without Teixeira playing or A-Rid hitting worth a lick. A-Rod .202 since the break.

It also shows why there will be room for Bird to play quite a bit next year. Can't assume A-Rod will make it through the season playing 5-6 times a week without wearing down.

we really need to put them in a lot of two on, nobody out situations and make their pitchers sweat...so the key to that is Gardner going strong along with Ellsbury
