Are you new around here? You name the owner, GM,coach, coaches, players, equipment manager, ball boy, medical staff, strength and conditioning staff. The only one to escape is Pat Hanlon
On here are outstanding... Unfortunately it's one of the attractions of the sport. Some frustrated wannabe can sit on his couch, recall his glory days at Smallville High where he started his senior year some thirty years ago and be critical of every call and every player.
Wm. Beatty is a very good professional football player and quality person. And. contrary to the thoughts trumpeted here , if he wasn't the Giants wouldn't have offered the contract that they did.
His pass blocking is above average and his run blocking is much better than this board (generally) gives him credit for. Both are substantiated by observation and that independent rating system.
He is also a guy that will give you all he's got. And he was man enough after his terrible year (when he played hurt) two years past to stand up and publicly apologize. "the Giants", he said, " gave me and my family wonderful security and I let them down, I will work in the offseason and have a better year"... (or words to that effect) and then he came in and he did exactly as he promised. And he was set to have a better year this year when that damn accident happened.
"he gives up sacs"...Oh really, how many and how many is within the providence of very good?
It's like saying Rogers throws incompletions, Sandy Koufax threw balls, Jimmy Brown lost yardage, Joe Louis got hit, Joe Dimaggio struck out and American Pharoh lost a race yesterday.

for being a bad LT than his predecessors at the position must have been pretty shitty LTs over the last couple of decades because yeah, they gave up quite a few sacks and drew a high number of penalties at LT. Pro Football Reference can be your friend.
before he had the detached retina later in the year. He's not a very physical blocker, but he has nice length and quick feet. He's been a mixed bag, but overall solid player.
He's going to get a shot there, given his contract and the loyalty the coaches figure to show him.
The one thing they've been trying to accomplish with the OL is to set four positions leaving only RT subject to change, unless the OL was performing poorly enough to require change.
RE: Beatty played some serviceable RT early in his career

And how many times have you been "forced" to say this? 20? 30? You know what the comprehension level is around here..:)
I agree Tuck, the hate is ridiculous and unsubstantiated, for the most part, when compared to all LT's in the NFL. Will is a fine Pass Pro.
Yeah, he is a good LT. Name any OT that doesn't give up sacks or the occasional penalty.
