Watching the Cowboys

NY-Fan : 8/30/2015 12:44 pm
Demarcus Lawrence, Randy Gregory and Tyrone Crawford all look very good this preseason. Also still pisses me off about Collins because you can just tell the kid is going to be a stud. He is always at the second level throwing blocks. Terrance Williams is another one that looks good. The thing is they never look lost out there. They look like they know what they are supposed to be doing. They do have a few holes on their team at running back and in the secondary.
i knew the minute i read the title someone was going to bring up

eagle receivers and TE are always so wide open, just plug in the name, they are always catching and running for positive yardage.

jerry reese told the sports pope we were very close to super bowl contention again.
im rewatching this eagles game

the packers look aweful, and everything the Eagles are doing just seems to go right. Walter Thurmond just had a pick 6 for example.... ridiculous game so far.

Reese ought to share whatever he's taking with the fans. Its the least he can do.

Yeah he'll be ok until he gets hurt again.....curious pick up for the Eagles.
Who Remembers the Seventies
Arkbach : 8/30/2015 2:24 pm : link
This looks like a long emerging drought. Eli has one foot out the door (FA) and is questionable even if he stays - no QB and we know what means, new coach in 16 (Arns or McVay like), GM with poor drafting (Robustelli era), and an owner who says for three years now that losing is unacceptable yet it looks to get worse each passing year. THESE SHOULD BE THE BEST YEARS like Indy with Peyton and NE with Brady. The Giants don't even look competitive which is the real bain like the seventies.
I am so happy, preseason doesn't count.....
Doomster : 8/30/2015 2:25 pm : link
Bradford: 10/10, 121 yards, 3 tds, 0 ints......

What would Sam Brad-Ford do if he were here right now. He'd definitely kick an ass or two, that's what Sam Brad-Ford would do.

APOLOGIES
Arkbach : 8/30/2015 2:33 pm : link
I should have stayed on topic.
The Cowboys will beat the Giants for the foreseable future (like the seventies) and now even the Eagles look like a new dominant powerhouse team. The Cowboy OL line can dominate games if they want.
I Love Those Who Don't Think We Can Complain About Collins
Bernie : 8/30/2015 2:45 pm : link
For a team that needed so much help on the O-line, I still will never understand not spending a 7th on the kid. His camp could make all the noise they wanted, but in the end, WHOEVER DRAFTED HIM, CONTROLLED HIM. It was either play for whoever drafted him, hope that team traded his rights or not play in the NFL. Going back into the draft was not an option as the CBA does not allow it. Not signing a contract only ensured he would never play in the NFL. In the end, I will always believe the Giants blew it on this one.

so true, but you will hear all 32 teams passed on him 7 times,i do not care, they needed to take a shot. marc ross after the draft made mention that collins name was sticking out like a sore thumb, you could tell he wanted to get the approval to pull the trigger.
Thankfully as Giant fans we still have the Washington team
arniefez : 8/30/2015 3:06 pm : link
to play twice a year. Although Washington might be the only thing standing between the Giants and a top 5 pick next year. The Giants look like a DIII team compared to Dallas and Philadelphia. 1-7 the last two years vs them and the one win was Matt Barkley's only NFL start. Highly likely it will be 1-11 after this year.
Mr Sunday
Arkbach : 8/30/2015 3:54 pm : link
Frequently, Eli looks more like Norn Snead and Craig Morton than anyone else. Hopefully, after a few games he'll look better like the end of last year, but it better not be too late.

I'm frustrated because the owner says the losing will not be tolerated, yet they look worse now than last Labor Day.
At His Worst, Eli Never
clatterbuck : 8/30/2015 4:11 pm : link
looked like Craig Morton or Norm Snead, for that matter. What were his preseason stats last year, or in 2007, 2008, or 2011?And Morton, Golsteyn, Dennis Shaw, Del Gaizo, Randy Dean, and all the other tomato can QBs we drafted, traded for, or signed in between Conerly/Tittle and Phil Simms should give everyone pause about discarding a two-time champion still in his prime.
Maybe we can forfeit
Headhunter : 8/30/2015 4:18 pm : link
the season, take our 0-16 and draft Joey Bosa
If Bradford makes it to week 8 I'll eat my Giants hat
Torrag : 8/30/2015 4:24 pm : link
Kelly's offense leaves a clear run at the QB often. No way that guy survives.

I am not going to try and pretend I am NFL Scout, or a GM. But as a long time fan, never recall our defensive line be pushed, or tossed around so easily.

Respectfully agree our talent seems less than other teams.
Its as if our plan to build talent is more for a reach.

Thank you for posts from others too. Your efforts to explain your opinion is appreciated.

Craig Morton & Norm Snead
arniefez : 8/30/2015 4:35 pm : link
were both pretty good QB's until they wound up in the hell that was the 70's Giants. Morton was actually very Kurt Warner like. Super Bowl win before and Super Bowl loss after his time with NYG. Neither one of them was Eli Manning. Which playoff game in his career was Eli on the side of the more talented team? That would be close to or possibly zero. Maybe Tampa 07 or ATL 11? Highly doubtful any other 2 time winning SB QB can say that.

Is there anymore evidence needed to prove that this delusional mindless empty suit doesn't know anything about NFL football? Shous some nuts and draft Collins with the 7th pick instead of that writhing injured blob you took. Who cares what the rest of the teams were doing. I am praying this inept bag of wind won't be around to make the top 5 draft pick next year.
Reese
Fish : 8/30/2015 4:56 pm : link
Has attempted to build the oline. The dline is work in progress. The talent Reese is choosing is questionable. Whereas Dallas has done well. However Dallas has a few guys that could get suspended once they do something stupid.

Would trade Erick Flower and Odell Beckham Jr for la'el Collins. I'm not one of them.
Snead Played Well
clatterbuck : 8/30/2015 6:08 pm : link
for Giants, all things considered. Morton was terrible. Didn't want to be here and played like it. The #1 pick we gave the Cowboys became Randy White. Point is, I get the frustration but comparing Eli to these guys is just silly.

That's poposterous but I do OBJ Zac Martin in a heartbeat!
I basically post the same thing

When anyone mentions la'el Collins. I'm exaggerating. Just don't remember a draftee on another team get so much attention before he's played a regular season game.
It's interesting how one good year
djm : 8/30/2015 7:19 pm : link
Has changed the fan's perception of Dallas. One good year and this team has apparently set the benchmark. This time last year Dallas was a bunch of chokers. Jones and romo were punch lines and Garrett was dead man walking. Now they are the cat's pajamas. Well see how good they are following a little prosperity and every player being told how awesome they are for the last 6 months. Solid team definitely some talent but I'm not convinced Dallas is anything more than a good but flawed team. Their d still has a long way to go.

He wasn't drafted. That's what makes it more astounding.

Until the WR's suck, and then people would trade Player X to get OBJ back.

Even when we have the rookie of the year, people still bitch and want to trade places.
