A lot of adjustments to get used to early on in season, plus dealing with injuries (if hit harder or Eli goes down, then less than 7 wins). By 11th week or so should result in some wins. Slow start and finish better.

When the injury count rises and other players don't step up to fill the void, probably worse than 8-8.
Based in te last year and the this years pre season I think
is between 5 wins at the lowest and 9 at the absolute best. More likely 6-7 wins. I would say at least we are still better than the Redskins but they honestly might finish a game or 2 ahead of us.
Slow start, like Coughlin teams in recent years, to multiple losses out of the gate while the team, particularly the defense and specials, gels.
Reese insists on holding on to some guys who should be cut, injuries mount, Beckham and Cruz and Donnell aren't sneaking up on anybody, and specials continue to give up more field position and TDs than they produce.
Includes 4 losses to Dallas and Phily, at least 3 losses to the AFC East (Buffalo is going to clean the GIANTS clock because they have outstanding defense and specials and can run the ball) and a mixed record against the rest of the NFC teams on the schedule.

You've been saying this annually since at least 2009..At least you're consistent my friend...:)
but with all the injuries, I'm thinking 7-9.
I'm actually quite surprised Stevie Brown didn't dislocate a shoulder in the baggage claim area in the airport.
injuries, inconsistency in all three phases of the game, talent deficiencies on both lines.
we are not good enough to beat the cowboys and eagles, in fact I would say the gap is bigger than it's been in a long time - 4 losses right there. I believe we'll be 4-8 after 12 games and win 3 out of the last 4....spurring yet another offseason of purgatory.
I think we start out uglier than we'd like - say 2-5, then get on a really nice run to be at 8-6 with a shot at the playoffs, falling just short at 9-7.
where do you see the talent that's going to lead to a great season? Which positions are above average? I can't see anything besides QB and possibly WR as being above league average. That's not enough.
where do you see the talent that's going to lead to a great season? Which positions are above average? I can't see anything besides QB and possibly WR as being above league average. That's not enough.
With stability and Beatty coming back our OL projects to be better than league average. Our RB by committee could function similarly to deep Patriots group last year.
Our CBs are above league average. Believe it or not, a young S tandom of Taylor and Collins could actually prove to be a +, not a -. (given, also possible that it's a screaming weakness).
And after pumping so many resources into the group this offseasin, our ST better be better than league average.
If they're not. It shows everyone in the organization made the wrong bets.
In addition to unexpected contributions from young guys like Taylor, maybe Bromley or Edwards, Giants need luck and health. Two things in short supply recent seasons.
One thing for sure. September is the time to root for everybody that makes the team, even if their names are Kuhn and Hosley.
already talent-depleted roster? Quite the opposite.
6-10.
Yeah, if you believed injuries were the culprit the past two years, you'd already be singing that song with the best defensive player out in addition to Beatty and the injuries at safety.
For reals, I think the team will be 8-8. I've said 8 to 10 wins for awhile, but thinking through the defense has me concerned the number will be lower.
when we don't know if Schwartz and Cruz play; if Kuhn actually starts at DT; if there are safeties with two working legs; we get the good Eli of the bad Eli; if JPP has two functional hands; Will Beatty returns; the oline plays league average......
Too many question marks to be optimistic -
I do think the line is better than last year - Schwartz and Hart are better than Jerry.
If things go right - 9-7.
If things go wrong - 5-11
BTW - New Orleans is a mess and no Jimmy Graham - NO is no lock to beat the Giants.
6-10. The defense just doesn't have enough players.
I thought going into camp that they could get to 8-8 and finish strong, but they haven't shown me anything and on top of it the injuries continue to mount.

Gee Victor, that may have been the least amount of injuries the Giants sustained in a pre-season (maybe reg season) game in a long time..
Patchwork O-Line, no pass rushers, secondary has more guys on the IR than on the active roster, and for some reason Eli looks WORSE in the 2nd year of the offense.
I don't think they win 4 games this year. And you know the Redskins are gonna stomp the giants at least once, it seems mandatory when we play a backup QB.
3-13, clean house after the season. It was an amazing run, but the Coughlin/Eli era has sadly come to an end. Still worth every penny.

Unfortunately. This is the most pessimistic I have been in many years. I just don't see the pass rush, safety issues and DB injuries in general, and OL being enough. The skill positions could be sick....
I think we are going to lose a lot of higher scoring games.
Offense figures to be better than last year, defense figures to be less bad.
The injured players were unlikely to be the difference in wins and losses; the addition of Spags and the continued exposure to McAdoo's system is. I see two potential problems with this season:
1) The kicking game feels stagnant to me. I read a blurb on Peter King's column that Weatherford may get beat out. I would welcome this.
2) How mature will Beckham be with an enormous target on his back? I'm less worried about the occasional penalty than I am with a potential loss of focus that leads to a lower quality of play. If Beckham is the same guy he was last year I believe this could be a contending team.
Is just not being realistic at all. It's hard to go 3-13 much like it's hard to go 13-3. Even the shittiest teams going can luck their way into 4-5 wins easy and the Giants are not that bad. The exaggerating and over the top negativity based on practice is crazy to me. I also think this team is better than last year's team and they won 6 games. Of course they could end up worse but I don't see it. I think this team will surprise based on the extremely dour predictions but how well they play is anyone's guess. We do need a lot of unknowns to shake out in a positive fashion. With that said I'll go 9-7. People will overstate how good a job coughlin does this season because I think there's more talent on this team than popular belief, especially offensively. But coughlin will get every ounce out of this team. It's what he's always done.
9-7 with a lot of ups and downs. My head says 8-8 but I'll go 9-7 just because my heart wants it. What's one more win...
Fuck setting expectations low. We need to start winning again and it not now then when exactly...ok we have safety problems...no one stops the pass anyway. And we have corners. 9-7.
I just don't think you have to field a very talented team In order to compete for a playoff spot. A strong passing game and maybe a little luck and timing can go a long way in today's NFL.
Best case seems 10-6. Worst case is 3-13. I just have no read of the team. Particularly the defense.
This is how I felt last year, but this year I'm less confident. Even when JPP was underperforming, his sheer presence allowed others players to move with more room.
If he's not on the field for a significant portion of this season (or not at all), then I don't see how the other pass rushers are going to have success.
5-11. No apology necessary. It's gonna be a stinker. More holes and problems than last year. Already finding out that it wasn't Fewell's defensive scheme that was the problem as the results are the same so far with Spags. Problem is lack of talent pretty much everywhere.
Talented players like Cruz, Pierre-Paul, Beason and Schwartz all hurt. Fill ins are either too inexperienced or lacking in talent. Team has no real leader and they badly need one. Manning looks like crap so far. Time for Nassib IMO. He makes things happen and has leadership qualities too. Dump Manning for a couple of defensive players and draft picks now while the value is still there.
May be rearranging the sock drawer often on Sundays this fall.
The Giants have improved the Oline, they get Cruz back for at least half the games, they have Vereen and Harris as new weapons -
The Giants D is porous but more aggressive - Linebackers stand out and give terrific support - Selvie and Ayres play strong for 9 games Owa and Moore excel in spots - the Tackles are up and down -- the CBs are good for ⅔ the season (11 games) -- the safeties are going to set better after the first third - (11 games)
Beatty and JPP enter the second half of the season and give the team a boost games 9-16
They can't keep up with the Eagles on Offense - so they're screwed in game 6 -- but Bradford is injured by the last game and we pull out the win
They continue to flounder in the first 2 games but wake up and turn it around during game time for surge against the Redskins
and then surprise Buffalo - commencing a winning streak till they hit the surging Eagles
The Eagles game possess everyone off and they take it out on the Cowboys
The Saints are hapless and worse than the Giants
The Bucs QB is wearing out by the time 9 and the Giants start surging with Beatty and JPP entering the line up - Cruz starts coming on strong
They shock the Pats as they go on a Roll

You already know that this defense and Spags system will fail? Based on preseason? Might wanna wait a little longer.
I remember the Eagles getting killed here and everywhere heading into the 2013 season. Remember Dallas getting killed last summer. Doesn't mean the Giants will kick ass but young teams can surprise people and then hang around for a while. The Giants don't have the household names, especially defensively but this time next year many of those unknowns could emerge into household names. I get the concerns but i really don't think the cupboard is bare like so many seem to think. Plenty of unknowns but there's talent to be tapped into here. This isn't an old stale defense that lacks talent. It's just raw and somewhat unproven. What if they develop? Outside of Collins these aren't rookies these are 2nd and 3rd and 4th year players here. That's a good thing.
People really discount what a stable coaching staff and QB can do for a team. Coughlin has done his best work with young unproven on the bubble teams. Look at his career.
Maybe I'm nuts but I see a team with potential here. It's raw and untested with some depth issues but every team has holes now. We have to just do one thing well enough to cover up some warts. Hello Eli, beckham, vereen, Cruz and Randle.

Coughlin and Reese are let go. McAdoo is made HC because there isn't the time for Eli to burn another year or two learning a new system.
Beatty and Beason are let go.
Draft a RT. Then LB. Unless Cruz is toast so need a WR2. JPP doesn't re-sign, and/or no other DE's steps up, then they'll need 1-2 DE.
Then the depth at all spots needs to be addressed. Especially with Jennings and DRC hitting 30. Need to find guys that will be their replacements. Along with LB and depth on both lines. They'll just plug in more journeymen to TE with all those needs.

FUNNY!!!! but I meant cumulatively
6-10 this year, with a porous defense wasting a fairly decent offensive performance.
We'll score about 400 points this season, but surrender close to 500.

Jets and Dolphins Defense plays them strong - close games but they get edged out and again pissed off the Giants go on a run
Panthers are in trouble - it's a win
Vikings are swept away
Eagles are limping to the finish line and get toasted

YeaH BabY!!!
There's how you do it! With write ups!!!
