ESPN article suggests front office personnel want him out, but...surprise, surprise, they're meeting resistance from ownership. After all, if he's shipped out, who would Danny Boy have to go bowling with?
Skins Brass At Odds Over Griffin - (
New Window )
Jets?
I think there'd be a lot of teams who will recall his rookie year as well as his overall talent. Coaches often overestimate their ability to rebuild talent as well.
I'd love for him to get traded to the Rams for a mid round pick.
I thought Cutler's absurd contract is the reason why they haven't.
M.S. ...
You left out the CFL and Arena League.
I would love to hear the laughter at the other end of those phone calls. Statue in Waco. Bust in DC. Never liked his personality. Despised it from day one. However, I underestimated his narcissism and lack of self awareness, and lack of QB skills.
It's shocking how bad he is when he doesn't have the threat of the read option. Stylistically, he can find work on a team like the Seahawks or Eagles. However, he is such a world-class tool that I can see him struggling to find a team willing to put up with him. His QB skills are no better than Tim Tebow and Tebow is a model teammate. Tebow is a lightning rod for other reasons, but he appears to at least fit in well with teammates.
My only hope is that Snyder wins the struggle. Griffin on the sidelines in DC is better than no Griffin at all. Plus, he can get injured on the scout team and cost Washington $16+ million next season. I would cut my achilles for that lottery ticket.
LOL!
RG got knocked down (not particularly hard) and was under a pile, but didn't receive a head shot (from I could tell).
Griffin's problem - He either doesn't see tacklers coming or he just doesn't read defenses well enough to recognize unblocked defenders (or maybe both).
If he can't take a normal football shot (now it's a cumulative thing), he's done. The Skins now recognize that, that's why they want to dump him.
No value whatsoever. Negative value when you add in the contract

Not naming names right now, were all over Griffin when he was drafted; oohing and awning that he was such a great talent and an even better, class act teammate and person. Ridiculous.
The same people who fell for that are the same idiots who think Trump is great. Any objective or intelligent person should have seen Griffin was a total phony. He was coached up by his bros/reps to get attention and he played the role to a T. He never shuts up, always seems to come off as contrived when he's not....he was the most selfish all about me diva I've ever seen and I'm bothered so many BBIers bought into it. If we buy into this bullshit, what does that mean for the rest of the fans who don't hate the Skins, or America in general?
Land of ignorance.
The Texans would be dangerous with an injury-prone quarterback who has no field vision, has poor throwing mechanics, and has wrecked confidence?
And the team that gives up the backup kicker will regret it.
I feel like the Redskins have destroyed him.
Tell us more. I don't recall your asshattery. I always love a good egomaniacal Griffin story.
In any event, my first thought was that it's bad for the Giants if Washington gets rid of Griffin. But on further thought, it doesn't really matter. That fish stinks from the head.
Right? That's always my response as well.
Not logical at all! A name that was previously "big" does NOT mean he is a logical fit for a team that happens to have a hole at said player's position. Bob might warrant a call. But literally NONE of those teams make sense cept for maybe the Jets if they give up a 6th or 7th and gets his contract restructured
A Facebook sports-related group I belong to featured a roast of each team. The Cowboys' and Eagles' were a lot of fun, but I didn't have the heart to participate in the Redskins'. It would have been too easy.

I will never understand how Snyder was able to be so successful in business... He's such a micromanaging little twit.

Because his sister ran the company successfully. That's how he made his money.
Other than Philly, I don't see RG3 helping any team. I don't see him as an upgrade with the Bills or Jets.

For Bob and a 4th?
For Bob and a 6th....
Besides, why would anyone want to trade for him? They are probably going to cut him to avoid that 16M nut....

Imagine that...BBI posters being wrong in talent evaluation. That never happens! For whatever it's worth, RGIII was a nearly unanimous top 3 pick with NFL personnel guys, scouts and draft analysts, and you're calling out BBI'ers for getting it wrong? Must make you feel pretty good.

Oh it wasn't that so much as it was how ignorant and gullible some on here were in drinking the cool aide on how great he was, what a mature, class act he was...it was nauseating that Giant fans of all people were gushing about his "character" based on some nice PR work by his reps.
Scary.
I wonder what his value is now, realistically? Would a QB hungry team send a 3rd?

And let's not forget that his spam company became extremely valuable during the dot com boom. And he sold out right at the beginning of the bust.
