Geramy Davis was one of the gunners, when the jets had the punt return for TD? I ask, as TC had mentioned that the Jets did a good job of handling the gunners on that particular play. Was just curious.

I couldn't tell who was out there. I had to watch it online and it was less than standard definition.
It looked like the center of our coverage unit opened like a gash, but I'd love to see that play again.

No looking at it again i can not tell the numbers but it did not look like him...
Just speculation, but it sounds like he wasn't "into it" and decided to pack it in for the night like a seasoned vet would do. If that was the case, I wonder if he felt that his roster spot was secure and he could pull a stunt like that.
Just a guess, but if the "injury" wasn't a big deal, and he pulled himself from the game anyway, I would think that the coaches probably made sure he was aware that no DE on this roster is uncuttable.
he probably shouldn't have been. Perhaps screwing around, but I'll reserve judgment. Needless to say, this team is incredible at finding ways to injure themselves?!
How do the Eagles do it? Can it just be dumb luck? I don't care what regimen you come up with, guys get injured playing this sport.
but my take on his comments, are if it were a regular season game, he probably would have played, and he probably pulled himself out of this game, maybe to the dismay of the coaching staff..?
and they always start well. It is how they finish that matters. Don't the players always say they are worn down by the last two/thirds of the season?
As for the Giants, I have absolutely no expectations for a winning season meaning...if it happens...GREAT! If not, then it is back to reassessment and perhaps a different strategy.
But Giants games (and practices) have become wars of attition rather than contests against other teams/units.
Mara would talk about the deep history of the team and the fact that we have two SB's in the past ten years.
And he'd probably say he'd want the team to start doing better.
Either way, I'm pretty sure he'd come off as less of a sniveling cockface that you do.
Losing franchise. Still can't believe that was typed with a straight face and then defended.
I tend to remember his interactions with the media lately being pretty straight lipped and not beating around the bush as far as where we are currently and where we need to be.
If Cruz misses week 1 (sounds like a real possibility), it would be for something OTHER than his knee...
I think he plays week 1, sounds like they are just being extra careful with it because they do not want him to over compensate and then has a setback with his knee....
By telling him not to jog yet that tells me they are afraid he is going overcompensate when he runs...
Mara would talk about the deep history of the team and the fact that we have two SB's in the past ten years.
I recall him making a lot of empty threats about sweeping changes and not being happy with the effort or results two seasons ago.....but then again maybe I'd be saying the same thing with my PSL money safely supporting my royalty life style.
And he'd probably say he'd want the team to start doing better.

here toss around the word "troll" whenever they get their panties twisted because they don't agree with someone's opine. And then you get the ones of limited intellect that try insult with vulgar attacks. That's right like you FATSO!
on a body of work and I'd like to see a post by Hem Roid (or even you Johnny Boy), that is anything but a pithy, negative throwaway line.
If we have fans who think this is a losing franchise, there really isn't much more to say. It isn't getting panties twisted, it is responding to an obviously false statement.
All we are arguing now is if it was an intentionally ignorant statement meant to incite or simply because the poster has shit for brains.

well then you are just contradicting yourself ... if you in fact base your opinions on "bodies of work" then are you saying you are pleased with the work we have done over the past 3 seasons ?
I cant speak for any other member out there, but there is nothing more enjoyable than watching my NYG's play games that are meaningful in NOV/DEC ...
It isn't just the present, it is the long-term view.
If somebody is making judgments on a 3-year period, that would be called short-sighted - not a body of work.
Really, I have to explain this shit?
short sighted ... yes, I just may be, BC I expect this storied franchise to compete every season, and not be all but eliminated from any post season discussion by OCT ...
I posted at the same level as some people. Game threads are going to be unbearable this year, much worse than any other year. I am just sad I use to be as bad as the people here are now.

If Cooper tTaylor can supplant himself as FS next to Landon Collins and both stay healthy. Giants might avert disaster in the secondary.
I said to myself, if we never win another Super Bowl in my lifetime, I could die happy. I get 2011 which is a bonus to me. I dont care if they win another one in 20 years, I dont care. I said it then, and I meant it

Agree. With so many hurt in the position, Cooper Taylor has an opportunity to win that starting position. We saw that Miles can't do much in a starting capacity, so let's hope that Taylor stays healthy enough to show us what we were getting glimps of last season before he got hurt.
Brandon Meriweather could go from a emergency stop gap & limited backup to a Spags secret weapon in the backfield to shake up the running game and blitz from the corner.
was starting all preseason and starting in today's practice with the first team DL just for the coaching staff to give him an extended look as to whether he stays on the roster or a crafty preseason decoy. he's our starting DT this year barring injury.
for everyone who complains about reese and thinks coughlin can do no wrong, remember that reese signed a massive 350 pound run stopping specialist when you are on here early in the morning on 9/14 wondering how the cowboys put up 200+ running yards against us.
Step up and TAKE the job from the vets. When you see them playing and the vets are on the sideline - it's a beautiful thing because you know you have a reliable player who can step up, if something bad happens.
I know Reese encouraged Tom (who has a reputation of not trusting young players) to play the young guys in '07. It worked out great.
I don't think so. Training camp is over.
I can't recall if the media has only full or partial access the rest of summer. We'll soon find out.
I couldn't tell who was out there. I had to watch it online and it was less than standard definition.

DE Robert Ayers (ankle) taking his injury day-to-day. Won't practice today.
DE Robert Ayers on what happened in pregame. "That's a tricky question that I'd rather not get into. ... a weird situation."
Robert Ayers: "it's a weird, stupid situation that I'm kind of ashamed it happened."
Robert ayers: "If it happened to someone else I'd question their toughness."

Tom wasn't pleased so it is likeky something along those lines.
Yeah, because this franchise has constantly proven that...
(on the Giants)
Victor Cruz confirms he is not cleared to practice yet. #Giants
Victor Cruz: I think we are just being careful and cautious with it. Calves are tricky.

the kinds of "tweets" you would expect from a losing franchise ... nothing makes much sense these days
One of the top franchises in terms of SB wins who had 2 losing seasons since 2005 is a "losing franchise"?
The fact that anyone looks at the Giants as a losing franchise is incredible.

so you are considered a troll if you feel the franchise has been in bad holding pattern for the past 4+ seasons ?
isn't that exactly what we have been in ?

instead of having fat rage and name calling, step back and look at where we are, and where the GM wants us to be ...
and the people who look to wait before they judge are homers because they are not killing the team...is that correct in your eyes?
and 4+ years? the giants won the superbowl 3 years ago...
they have won the Superbowl twice in 7 years...you know how many teams would kill for that?
