He was a good player for the Giants. Sure tackler, good hands.

Wasn't Ross 24 or 25

not really a "bust"

but he really was just another guy for the vast majority of his career. That's a disappointing return on a first round pick.

He was huge during the run in the playoffs in 07
H eplayed with a seperated shoulder in the NFC championship game and superbowl...He was probably their best corner that year...
For that alone he was not a bust..

If you compared his career to players drafted in a similar slot I'd say he'd probably look favorable.
Really liked him in 2007.

Was hoping he'd be a good/very good player for years to come. Didn't happen.

adequate starter is something much less than "huge".
Contributor to a super bowl winning team justifies it

If he doesn't get that tackle with a separated shoulder, it can be argued the Giants don't get past dallas. How much value to do place on that.
He also was responsible for some big plays during the season. The 07 Jet game was his coming out party.
a tackle? a pick six?

that a tiny handful of random moments is all folks can point to with this guy says it all.

A LOT of value, but I've always looked at things that way..
Wondering if he's thoroughly toast or he could be depth at S? Not certain he's played there all that much, but he's a heady guy imv

This, 100%. Feel the same way about JPP - even if 2011 was all he gave us, 2011 was enough to justify picking him.

If I remember properly, the one-on-one tackle of Marion Barber forced a change of possession, in a playoff game, that was a to the wire finish.
Not random. Actually kind of critical. That's like saying the kyle williams fumbles were a random moment. They were pretty significant.
