Ex-Giants News...Browns release CB Aaron Ross

Eric from BBI : Admin : 8/31/2015 9:54 am
Probably the end of the line for him...
that was real quick
micky : 8/31/2015 9:56 am : link
Guess it is.
Didnt see much of him was he that bad?
nygiants16 : 8/31/2015 9:57 am : link
or was it a numbers game...Browns have some good players in their secondary...

Maybe he is toast from that Achilles injury...
He's
AcidTest : 8/31/2015 10:00 am : link
done. Good career. Wish him the best.

kick the tires?
drafted a few spots behind Revis
I Love Clams Casino : 8/31/2015 10:08 am : link
and I know the Giants FO wanted Revis...
He was a good player for the Giants. Sure tackler, good hands.
Victor in CT : 8/31/2015 10:21 am : link
Not an All Pro but definitely solid.
Convert him to safety?
Gordo : 8/31/2015 10:26 am : link
do it.. he knows spags system.. can't be much worse than what he have here
has not been a very good player for a long time
CMicks3110 : 8/31/2015 10:29 am : link
he's toast. For someone who was a sprinter in college, his speed never impressed me at all
Wasn't Ross 24 or 25
Lurts : 8/31/2015 10:33 am : link
As a rookie?
I had no idea he was still in the NFL
Ten Ton Hammer : 8/31/2015 10:33 am : link
.
At least
Deej : 8/31/2015 10:36 am : link
his grandchildren got to see him play.
not really a "bust"
Enzo : 8/31/2015 10:36 am : link
but he really was just another guy for the vast majority of his career. That's a disappointing return on a first round pick.

He was huge during the run in the playoffs in 07

H eplayed with a seperated shoulder in the NFC championship game and superbowl...He was probably their best corner that year...

For that alone he was not a bust..
...
CoughlinHandsonHips : 8/31/2015 10:56 am : link
If you compared his career to players drafted in a similar slot I'd say he'd probably look favorable.
Really liked him in 2007.
Dave in Hoboken : 8/31/2015 10:58 am : link
Was hoping he'd be a good/very good player for years to come. Didn't happen.

adequate starter is something much less than "huge".
Contributor to a super bowl winning team justifies it
Ten Ton Hammer : 8/31/2015 11:11 am : link
If he doesn't get that tackle with a separated shoulder, it can be argued the Giants don't get past dallas. How much value to do place on that.

He also was responsible for some big plays during the season. The 07 Jet game was his coming out party.
a tackle? a pick six?
Enzo : 8/31/2015 11:20 am : link
that a tiny handful of random moments is all folks can point to with this guy says it all.

A LOT of value, but I've always looked at things that way..

Wondering if he's thoroughly toast or he could be depth at S? Not certain he's played there all that much, but he's a heady guy imv
Isn't he like

This, 100%. Feel the same way about JPP - even if 2011 was all he gave us, 2011 was enough to justify picking him.

If I remember properly, the one-on-one tackle of Marion Barber forced a change of possession, in a playoff game, that was a to the wire finish.

Not random. Actually kind of critical. That's like saying the kyle williams fumbles were a random moment. They were pretty significant.
