The qualifier is that if they really got ALOT more practice in together, perhaps. But now, with Cruz, Randle, half the 0-line; it doesn't matter if they regain their health tomorrow or not. The damage was done.
My stomach's already turning at the thought of Jerry Jones' shit-eating grin in the owner's box while his team drops 40 on us. The Dallas Super Bowl talk will begin in earnest, as will four months of "is Coughlin getting fired?" and "is Eli an elite QB?" debates.
we were not going to Beat Dallas in the opener, imo..We should be fine when we face them at home..
I would love to see an upset, but I don't see a win at all..This from a Kool-Aid guy
what did me in were the quotes this a.m. from Ayers and Cruz.
Ayers is our best pass rusher right now and Jordan Ranaan had him as his top player at camp. We have ZERO shot without him. And then throw Beason in there and Cruz on that list?

Since it's a primetime game, I would guess the camera will show his luxury box no less than 25 times. Maybe that fat slob Chris Christie will be present.
i don't think we will but there is no one who is going to think we have a shot vs Dallas. Nobody. I'd like to think that is when we play best but that also feels very five years ago too...
that Romo and their offense are still working kinks out and are not yet fine tuned....like most teams this time of the year. Dallas defense doesn't scare me....its being able to contain their offense, which is close to impossible, without a healthy Beason, Ayers, JPP, etc.
The only thing I see as even a remote possibility of things unfolding into an unlikely win, is we CANNOT turn the ball over and we just say fuck it and aggressively blitz all day, leaving our corners on islands and smacking Romo around senseless.
I'll worry about who's playing and who is not playing
as long as our line plays at an NFL level. I'm throwing in the towel on the defense and hoping he can win this with offense. Signing James Jones is looking better and better. Put him outside in 3 WR sets and move Randle or Odell into the slot. Hope to god that we can move the ball on the ground.
I would not at all be shocked if they did. Most Giants/Cowboys games, particularly in Dallas, turn out to be shoot outs. If the Giants offensive line holds up, this Cowboys defense doesn't remotely scare me. I think the first team to get to 35 will win, and yes, that team could well be the Giants.
We can definitely light up the Dallas defense, minus Scandrick.
Even without Cruz - Beckham, Randle, Vereen, Donnell is more than enough. We'll need a couple of picks from Romo though. We actually played Dallas very competitively last season, but I just don't think we're ready for this type of test out of the gate.
Like others have said, can't see them coming out of Dallas with a win.
Dallas O vs Gmen D is a terrible matchup. They will probably be able to chew up yards on the ground and limit the Giant's O opportunities. With limited possessions, they'll need to make them all count. We've seen the past few seasons it seems to take a while for the Giant's O to get going
and just forfeit. I mean, c'mon - Eli will throw 3 picks (2 will be returned for TD), defense will give up 40+ points. Their O-line will push our d-line all over the place. And let's not forget that Dallas will be SB bound in Sept!!!
I am sure the same sentiment was shared on BBI before 2007 SB.
do you? My post would actually support the point not to overreact to preseason.
if you don't think there is a direct translation and carry over from preseason in individual performances to the regular season you are sadly mistaken ... I am not talking about final scores, who cares who wins and who loses ... I am talking about projected 1st team players and they level of expectation and how they are actually playing ...
there is no semblance of any continuity in any phase of our team ...

Ok so
Adrian Peterson is going to suck since he has not played a single snap in Preseason...
Aaron Rodgers and the packers are going to suck since they have struggled in preseason....
Russell Wilson and the seahawks offense is going to suck because they struggled in preseason....
Peyton Manning is going to struggle because they have struggled in preseason...
Preseason has no bearing on the regular season...
If that was the case the Giants would have never won the superbowl in 2007 or 2011
does that mean the seahawks are going to struggle?
Does that mean Peyton is going to struggle?
Does that mean Aaron Rodgers will continue to struggle?
Does that mean AP is going to be terrible?
If preseason meant what was going to happen in the regular season, the Giants would not have won the superbowl in 2007 and 2011...
the preseason is intended for building continuity and learning tendencies amongst teammates ... the final score is irrelevant ...
its a dress rehearsal to see where your projected 1st teamers grade out and individual analysis takes place ...
based upon the 1st 3 preseason games, there is not much difference from the 2014 team and where we left off 6-10, to this projected team ... who I feel, where fare worse ...
not because of injuries and not because Dallas is better. Simply because it seems that the Giants tend to get a slow start. That is the perception anyway. As if we are not truly ready to start the regular season.
JPP and Ayers were the best 2 pass rushers last year....jusdt a reminder.

Why would you do that now?
Their OL has been banged up and who is their starting RB? Mcfadden?...
Dallas is not going into the game healthy either...
Pretty sure 0 people said he'd be back for week 1.

Their CB position might be in as bad shape as our S position. Yet a Dallas victory is all but assured.
Again - it is almost like people have never seen preseason before.
And if the Giants scored 40, they would probably lose by 20.
I wouldn't be surprised if we upset them or lost close.
Giants +5.0 right now.

But some here said he would be able to play with 9 fingers. LOL!

I thought preseason games were meaningless ! you guys are sick, sick I say ...

I am so sick of guys that ARE ALWAYS INJURED. Give the money back and retire.

Spot on-
And Bortles is going to lead the league in QBR this year because of how well he's looked this preseason. People need to get a goddamn grip.
Name the last preseason where the defense has looked good going into the season....
Name the last preseason where Eli has looked good going into the season?
Preseason is for testing out situations and certain plays against live competition,
do you honestly think the Giants gameplan for these games? no team gameplans....

Their OL will bulldoze our DL into the ground.
Our offense hasn't rolled out the full package yet for obvious reasons, but I could see Eli and ODB having a field day
45-42 Giants. Fuck the Cowboys.

Concur.

so the offense is going to go from struggling to put 3 consecutive plays together to get a 1st down, to scoring 45 points on opening night ...
interesting ...

The question is, was it a W or a L.

Can't see that far into future. Lol.
so i asked you are those teams going to struggle as well because they struggled in preseason or is it just the Giants?
Forget about last year they are different teams last year means nothing now....
this team is struggling, again ... we struggled in 2014, struggled in 2013 and the pattern points to struggling in 2015 ...
again, there is no continuity in any phase of this team ...
