in CF this year? I know he only plays there part time but is he good enough? Might be an interesting option after Cespedes.
Hayward would be a perfect solution, if he accepts a reasonable contract. Hoping he gets overlooked. But cards rarely lose a guy they don't want to lose.
is if we make it to the WS, don't necessarily have to win, but we would need the revenues generated from the post-season plus the residual ticket sales uptick from having an exciting team next year. Our commitments next year, i beileve another poster said was about $89, so we should definitely be able to buy cespedes if we make it that far, question is will he take a good offer before free agency.
where we sign Cespedes and the payroll is LESS than it is now in 2016. Doubt the money is the issue. We have a ton of dead weight coming off(sorry Colon, no pun intended.) ;)
A friend of mine who is a Yankee fan was just giving me shit last night for the Mets losing 2 of 3 to Boston. "The Red Sox suck.. all the Mets do is beat bad teams and can't even beat Boston" ..

Wonder if he'll have anything to say now.
yes.. it will have something to do with the umps strike zone.
you don't think Becerra is a no-brainer to keep in rule V? Especially given the exodus of prospects with all the 2nd half trades (though all of the traded players by the Mets were pitchers)
He's 20 years old with a good bat.
No idea about his D, but given the lack of OF bats in the Mets system figured it would give the Mets some extra incentive to keep him

PJ,
Not based on talent. Based on being in low A ball. These types very, very, very rarely get claimed. Teams have an extremely hard time hiding Becerra's on an MLB roster. He'd likely be embarrassingly bad at the MLB level in 2016.
Conforto has one of better looking swings I've seen in a long Â
k's in 427 ab's in low-A ball likely = hilariously bad vs. MLB pitching April 2016. They may yet protect him (The Twins protected Kepler last year) but it would be somewhat unusual.
someone give me Howie or Gary call ;)
Magic number - ( New Window )
We've had a lot of shitty starters - ( New Window )

Its almost impossible to imagine his swing not resulting in a very good major league hitter.
