jullian talley, the beat guys rave about him

sundayatone : 8/31/2015 3:15 pm
any chance he is a surprise for the final 53?
Given 6 WR
BillT : 8/31/2015 3:23 pm : link
He'd have to beat out Washington and Davis.
I like him
PEEJ : 8/31/2015 3:25 pm : link
more than Parker, esp in the slot
WRs:

Cruz, Beckham, Randle, Jones, Davis, Harris. No room for #7, especially given the needs at other positions, unless maybe we go with 2 TEs. I'd be OK keeping Talley if we trade Jones back to the Packers, but I think Coughlin likes his veteran leadership.
Has he ever gotten into a regular season game?
Ten Ton Hammer : 8/31/2015 3:49 pm : link
Say what you will about Parker, he's not a starting quality player but I look at him as a decent 2nd-level player
The thing about Parker
Headhunter : 8/31/2015 3:53 pm : link
is he will block, he does return punts, but he can be counted on to drop an easy third down pass and kill a drive. He should be replaced
I'll take talley, Davis and Jones all before Parker

We know what we have with that guy. He's a JAG and his hands suck. It's time to see who offers an upgrade to him.
If you want Talley
HomerJones45 : 8/31/2015 4:05 pm : link
you let Jones go. Everyone is impressed because Jones, 31 years old and an 8 year vet, was catching passes against 3rd and 4th stringers. You saw what he could do against a starter when Cromartie was last seen sailing past him on the way to the end zone.
agree

about Parker
I have been signing Talley's praises since last preseason
NYGmen58 : 8/31/2015 4:10 pm : link
Guy has been on the practice squad for like 3 years, it's his time.
Coughlin
Rflairr : 8/31/2015 4:20 pm : link
loves Parker. hes not beating him out
I've like Talley
Bill in UT : 8/31/2015 4:37 pm : link
since the start, but I don't see how he hangs on
It's a shame

That there isn't a way this young kid can get a shot at the final 53man roster. Has he stood out on special teams? Is he worth taking over Washington? I agree that he should make it based on the beat writers summaries of his performance this year at training camp. However, Jones is a known quantity and may be needed sooner than expected if Cruz can't recover adequately from his calf injury.
I never understood Jones signing. He is not insurance for Cruz

R.Randle.
I'm not sure I understand the Washington love.
Mr. Bungle : 8/31/2015 7:06 pm : link
Unless a few 4th-quarter TDs last August and a mopey attitude at times since translates to regular season success.
Totally agree
redwhiteandbigblue : 8/31/2015 8:27 pm : link
On the Washington view. Never understood all the love for him. All he did was score TD's in the pre-season against 3rd string defenses and a few catches at garbage time last year. My eyes see a tall lean receiver that reminds me of Barden. Not a good route runner and not physical.Rarely gets any separation.
Only way Talley sticks is on PS.....
Simms11 : 8/31/2015 8:34 pm : link
I think he's still eligible.
Can he play
spike : 8/31/2015 8:57 pm : link
DB?
Wouldn't mind a depth chart that looked like this
Watson : 8/31/2015 9:54 pm : link
1st OBJ / Cruz / Randle
2nd Harris / Talley / Davis
comparing Washington's pre-season performance
bc4life : 8/31/2015 9:59 pm : link
last season to this year's. I think he's a goner.

Talley won't make it either.
