In MinCamp the safeties were Taylor and Collins and it looked promising. I don't think anybody expected much out of Bennett Jackson and Mykele Thompson was a who was that draft pick. Maybe Behre can be used as a short term IR person and the safety position isn't much worse than what we thought it was.
No pun intended with Thompson's unfortunate injury.
We have to hope Behre misses the first six games ONLY and can return.
Our starting safeties will likely be Collins and Taylor and neither has ever started an NFL game. We may see a 3 safety rotation with Merriweather playing an awful lot too. He may be a journeyman but he is a veteran and we'll need his presence, especially early in the season.
Just a real shame Jackson and Thompson were both hurt like that with season ending blows. Giants just can't win!
in his playing time; I don't greatly lament his groin or his not making the team, not a significant loss. After the first two guys, and who knows how long Taylor and Collins stay on the field, the rest are just bodies until proven otherwise. Jackson was a loss, a bummer. And who could possibly know whether Behre has anything to offer on the field, after two years staying off it?.
If Cunningham is gone at the expense of AR, that is getting close to keeping Kuhn ahead of any of the others.
It's a challenge to figure out who is running this asylum.

That's true. It's not much worse than it was to begin with but it was never really complete so Reese has been adding guys (who have been dropping like flies) and we aren't getting anywhere.
I don't understand why Dawan Landry is still sitting at home. We are very thin and most of the safeties that are left have long injury histories. Landry had a good year last year, hasn't missed a game since 2008 and has averaged over 100 tackles over the past 5 years. I'll take that any day over any safety on the roster with the exception of Collins.
That's not what I think will happen, it just what I want. Some guys are just football players. I think he's one.
I agree and it would be a crime if its at the expense of JPP of Tight Ends just because numb nuts made the proclamation.
I want to see him and Unga make it. Do we really have that many good rookies or do the veterans just suck that bad? Flowers, Collins,OO, Davis, Hart, Unga,Cunningham have all looked pretty good to pretty damn good. We need some key veterans to shore this team up.
RE: The key with Taylor is staying on the field.....
and actually questioned his own toughness. That certainly goes against what Jenkins would like for this team going forward. Quite honestly, I never heard of a professional athlete questioning his own toughness.
Current safeties:
L. Collins
B. Meriweather
C. Taylor
S. Brown
J. Miles
J. Halley
You assume they keep 4 right? Or are they gonna keep 5?
That would fulfill one oft requirements to not view this as a 6 win team--- healthy Schwartz, benched Kuhn and more snaps for owa would help too!

That's a big key for him. One more year on IR and I'm officially changing his name to CoopIR Taylor.

Johnny Boy, you are clueless. Coughlin sets the 53. It's his roster come September.
Another jackass who acts like injured players are just loving being on the sidelines and should be ridiculed.
Why don't we just call him China Doll or something cool like that?
