With our defense somewhat suspect, I anticipate other teams will score easily. We will have to reciprocate Eli throwing a lot to our offensive weapons. We'll win some, we'll lose some, but in the end we will have some ridiculous numbers from Eli and Odell.
THIS!
But yeah, I see a lot of 40-38 games coming.
Expect 30+ TD's this season with 20-25 INT's

Wrong. This is a QB-WR friendly offense. Those days of Gilbride's 25-INTs offense is gone. Eli threw 14 INTs last year, but 5 in one game alone.
The only reason why Eli won't win shootouts is because TC will put a cap on Eli.

Eli...he will start throwing INT's left and right.

Sho, I think I know what Shockwave is saying.
He is saying that the fact the defense is so bad the Giants offense will feel as if they are starting from behind before the game ever starts. The pressure will be so great on them to score on almost every possession just to keep up that it will lead to an increased amount of forced errors regardless of the offensive "scheme"
Sizable deficit + shaky o-line + increased QB pressure + more pass attempts under pressure = sacks/interceptions/turnovers
Giants may be able to pull out a shootout here and there. But to ask them to do it over the course of 16 games is not realistic without any help from its defense that as of now, does not appear to have the ability in terms of talent to make a positive contribution and help the team win enough games.

I'm not sure what you expected from the defense with our QB(Beason) never getting practice time or game time and going out there with no starting caliber DEs or safeties(Collins isn't quite there yet)......AND KUHN STARTING...WHAT THE HELL TOM?
The defense isn't gonna be that good this year though. They will become decent by the end of the year and maybe even sniff the top ten but they will not be giving anybody nightmares? There are way more resources dumped into the offense so they will have to carry the team.
The problem is Eli has never ran a top tier offense and although I think he will have one of his best seasons, hits best seasons still aren't that good. A 12 year get should not be making multiple rookie mistakes week in and week out. There's no fire left in him. I'm almost ready to see what Nassib can bring to the table, if we don't see a whole new and improved Eli by week 4 or 5.
Hell, they can't even score most of the time until late first quarter or the second quarter and by then its usually too late anyway.
Yes, its obvious the Giants must be able to get into shoot outs in order to have any chance at all at saving TC again...but the chances of that happening are so low, its not even funny anymore, and we all know that.
But Safety is the biggest red flag.
Somehow, impossibly, the Giants are repeating the same mistakes from 2009.
And like 2009, they get to play Drew Brees in New Orleans. Drew likes teams with bad safeties. A LOT.
CC Brown, anyone?
This isn't fun for me. I'm the eternal preseason optimist. This is the first time I've had preseason vibes this negative since Dave Brown.
