Hard to fault Rex for releasing 34 year old running back. He was 2 years older than the next starting back last year.

Better now than next week for him.

When else should he have been let go?

what you see in the preaseason.......things don't always translate when the bullets fly for real.

Saw it on Rotoworld this morning.

If they get any decent QB play, I could see them getting a WC.

plan to play great defense and run the ball often. Taylor may not be a passer but he can run as a QB, and if he can escape on passing downs they could be a playoff team.

If that's the game plan, it's not going to work and Rex will again be making the same mistake he's done in the past..........you need QB play in the NFL to win.

I'm not entirely sure that's the plan, I caught part of an ESPN show where they said that's the plan. I guess we'll see if it works but I think it could if you have Taylor make two reads and if not open then run plan. Combine that with their running game and defense and I think they could make the playoffs.

and he did it with his arm much more than with his feet. Taylor put the most points on the board of the trio, and probably gained the most yards between his passing and a few runs. And that's despite the fact that Cassel and Manuel looked pretty good in pre-season.

And yes, Fred Jackson still has something left in the tank. I think they made a real mistake in cutting him. The message seems to be that Bills GM Doug Whaley won't give up on the ex-Iggle Bryce Brown who he traded for prior to last season. Brown is a good runner but has a history of poor ball security.

And if the Bills get anything much out of their QB position this year, they are a VERY legitimate Super Bowl contender. They have the best DL in the league and are very deep at most positions.

On the other hand, the GIANTS are kept out of last place in their division only by possibly the most incompetent franchise in the league, the Deadskins.

They have much cheaper and younger options. They let him go with plenty of time to catch on.

here was an undrafted guy that played his entire career with the Bills, and was a pretty good player for them......I am pretty sure they knew what their plans were for the upcoming season, with the glut of RB's they had....just felt, that Rex would have given him his release much sooner(maybe even before OTA's), and given him a little more respect....

It's kind of like, we let Bradshaw go, because we thought he had nothing left....but we let him go after the season, so that he could catch on with another club.......we didn't bring him to camp and hang onto him and then let him go with one week left, when most rosters are full or set....

And who the hell is Tyrod Taylor?

Nothing special in college....6th round pick.....released by Ravens, I believe...

And when he was outplaying the other two qb's, was he doing this with the first team or with the scrubs?

Methinks Rex is following a familiar pattern....

Siuation with this team so I don't get the strong opinions on the coach other than you must have some kind of beef with the guy.

You know nothing about this whole situation.

A) Tyrod has been the favorite for since he got there and has taken the majority of the first team reps in the preseason

B) Tyrod was a 5 star recruit in college and is the winningest QB in Virginia Techs schools history

C) Tryod was selected in the 6th round mostly due to his hieght.

D) Tyrod can throw the ball deep, and is not just a running QB

E) Tyrod compares well to Russel Wilson, but is a better runner if needed and has beaten

F) Tyrod has beaten Russel Wilson, And EJ Manual lead teams in college head to head everytime

G) Tyrod has had 3 years to learn and grow in the NFL which many QBs don't have the luxury of doing
