Hosely is gonna stick

- he sucks
- but he plays position of need for NYG

He always gets lucky in my opinion

A 4th round and 7th round pick? What exactly are you all expecting from mid-round picks? Do you know how many of them actually stick after 3 years? There is no shortage of 1st round picks that bust. Moseley played well when given a chance but he is hurt too often. This is a "disaster?"

Don't you know that almost every other GM in the league regularly get Pro Bowlers with their 4th and 7th round picks. Geesh.
Kanavis: if Hosley, Robinson and
Steve Filipowicz : 9/1/2015 5:54 pm : link
Kuhn are cut so that only JPP and Prince remain from the 2010 through 2012 drafts and you're OK with that, then I'm cool too
Hunt
Eric from BBI : Admin : 9/1/2015 5:59 pm : link
was waived/injured...so it's pretty clear his hamstring injury would have prevented him from playing on Thursday.
If you think Kuhn is going to get cut you're nuts
BillT : 9/1/2015 6:42 pm : link
He's currently a stating DT! Robinson, however, is probably going to get beat out by Cunningham. Holsey is lucky that C. Brown is injured.
BillT: At this point, I think Robinson is competing with Fells.
Big Blue Blogger : 9/1/2015 6:50 pm : link
Cunningham has probably made the team as the primary backup to Donnell. Robinson needs to knock the snot out of some Patriot scrubs to win the blocking TE job.
Gordy?
KWALL2 : 9/1/2015 6:51 pm : link
Does that mean he's finished with NYG for the year?
If there's a surprise among the non-cuts, it's Conway.
Big Blue Blogger : 9/1/2015 6:56 pm : link
No way he makes the roster, obviously. He's here to absorb snaps in New England and maybe vie for a spot on the practice squad.
Can Beattyt start
Andy in Boston : 9/1/2015 6:57 pm : link
Practicing when he's ready to?

BBB - Interesting thought but then I think Robinson will probably get beat out by Fells. I just don't see where he shown enough. We know Fells will at least contribute.
Andy: No - He can't practice for the first six weeks of the season.
Big Blue Blogger : 9/1/2015 6:59 pm : link

No one says you have to hit on every mid round-pick but you have to hit on some or you have a talent depleted roster like we have with no depth. Reese's track record in the middle rounds is abysmal. You can't deny it. The proof is on the field. You can point to the poor choices of other GMs as some kind of excuse but you don't pay your FO to be mediocre you pay them to win.
Hosley
KWALL2 : 9/1/2015 7:09 pm : link
Is a lock. We are at the desperate stage for athletic DBs.

Losing Gordy and Jackson are big hits. It's going to be tough to matchup with PHi without these 2.

There is no "4th and 5th round disaster". It doesn't exist.
Too many people on this Board
WillieYoung : 9/1/2015 7:14 pm : link
view everything in terms of their agenda to fire Reese. The rest of us are hoping to win games and that players succeed. I think some of the Reese haters will be pissed if we win this year. That is sad.
Kuhn
KWALL2 : 9/1/2015 7:34 pm : link
Is NOT currently starting. Thats the kind of comment that makes my day on BBI.
KWALL
Eric from BBI : Admin : 9/1/2015 7:36 pm : link
Kuhn has started at DT for every preseason game. He also started at DT throughout the OTA's.

Unless the Giants have a late change of heart, he's starting against Dallas.
Has C.J. Conway even played this preseason?

Kuhn's not starting? He's been the starter at every practice recently. One could assume that Jenkins takes the spot back, but he's been playing almost exclusively at DE recently.
despite starting all preseason
RicFlair : 9/1/2015 7:41 pm : link
I don't think Kuhn starts week 1. I think it's possible he still gets cut.

Didn't Patterson start all preseason last year?
There is no chanve
KWALL2 : 9/1/2015 7:43 pm : link
That guy is starting in game one. and if he somehow make the team he will not get much playing time in the first game.
I'm with Ric here
KWALL2 : 9/1/2015 7:46 pm : link
He got a lot of snaps for evaluation and the test score are back. He got an F.

I can't believe peopl think they don't see it. They do. He's struggling to simply make the roster. No shot of starting.

Coughlin on August 23:

Q: What have you seen from Markus Kuhn so far in these first two preseason games? Weve seen him with the first team almost all summer. What has he done to earn that trust in you guys?

A: Well, hes a big, strong guy. Weve talked an awful lot about stopping the run, and he can hold the point in there, which hes done over and over. Hes very smart, and so we look at him as a guy that can anchor down in there and can knock back off the ball. And hes pretty much done that.
Depth charts and who starts in preseason doesn't mean anything.

The Guy who excites the fans every year
bigfish703 : 9/1/2015 7:58 pm : link
seems either to be cut or come down with some mystery injury.
Last year Washington disappeared during the regular season & this year the explosive Hunt suddenly develops a hamstring. It seems to me that Cruz came down with the same condition his 1st year & was stashed away on IR. Perhaps the malady is catching, but I suspect that what Hunt suffers from is mostly Parkeritis. Let us hope that he falls under the radar of the other clubs, but with a better than 30 yds/kick return average this preseason, he was not exactly invisible.
Eric
KWALL2 : 9/1/2015 7:59 pm : link
I saw the comment. It means nothing to me. The guys play is a big problem. They will address it by starting another player and trying to keep him off the field as much as possible. And that may be by cutting him before week 1.

If I could answer that question in a rational manner that squared with what I see, I would try. Fells has had relatively fewer snaps, I think, but all three (Donnell, Fells, Cunningham), each in his own way and with his own strengths, appear to have greater intensity and power (exception Donnell).

Perhaps it's because Robinson has been around so long, there's a comfort level; but that doesn't really explain it either because everyone is in year 2 of McAdoo. To me, Robinson kind of drifts around the field, looks as though he gets in the way of defenders and goes through the motion of squaring to block or push his man to the outside/inside--to me--zero intensity or explosion. I didn't see Saturday night; evidently he caught a few short passes. Maybe it's more of the Brewer four year rule.

I loved your" Brewer 4 year rule." Let's see how it works out with Hosley & Robinson.

It is amazing how things change. Last season, nobody would have said that Beatty was a huge asset to the Giants. Also, so many negative comments about JPP's play last season. Fast forward to your comments and one would think we were talking about two players who are absolutely dominant.
Last year wouldn't people agree that Beatty and Pugh
CT Charlie : 9/1/2015 8:16 pm : link
were the only dependable OL in an iffy unit? (Richburg was okay, but green and playing out of position.) Pugh was borderline because of his injuries. So, to lose your best offensive lineman from a year ago -- regardless of his talent -- is a big deal.

- Amukamara

- Hosley
- Robinson
- Kuhn

* not under contract

Should be reason enough to change things in the front office. That is just awful and the reason why we are fielding the team we have.

Herman was a seventh round work-in-progress. He was a good developmental pick, as he is capable of flattening anyone he gets his hands on. Problem always has been is that he moves like the Titanic, and anybody faster than my mother is by him before he has taken his first move.

Don't worry. I'm right. :)

Marty....you don't fire a guy in 2016!for what happened in 2010-2012. For one, there was one Super Bowl win during that time but more importantly the front office has done a very good job with player additions in 2014 and 2015.
Willie Young: I'm one of those BBIers who wants Reese fired
Steve Filipowicz : 9/1/2015 9:25 pm : link
because of his failure to draft correctly. His dismal drafting is why we haven't been to the playoffs in years. I'm not saying we should frequently win the SB but we should make the playoffs more frequently than we have.

Don't believe me that Reese is below-average in drafting players? The April 25, 2015 edition of the New York Post reviewed the drafting record of each team for the 2010 thru 2014 Drafts.

The result was that Reese's drafts wound up 23 out of 32 teams So, not only below-average but almost in the bottom third of all 32 teams.

At this rate I'd beg to see Kuhn first snap
mattlawson : 9/1/2015 9:25 pm : link
strip sack romo and take it in for a TD alone.

Reese's Drafts
Samiam : 9/1/2015 10:01 pm : link
Maybe some of you have missed this but Reese's drafts the last few years have been good to very good and it's not hurt Beckham. Plus, Flowers has looked pretty good so far and a few others show potential but obviously way too early to evaluate. So, some of you want to fire Reese because of bad drafts 3-5 years ago when he's already demonstrated significant improvement. Where's the logic?
How can somebody..
FatMan in Charlotte : 9/1/2015 10:04 pm : link

or not, but it is moronic to say something that hinges on the record of the season.

So in other words, if we went 16-0 you think it should be his last year?

This place just lays the stupid on this time of year.

You ARE wrong. I'm a huge Coughlin guy but on the kuhn thing I truly believe he's going to start the season with him starting. In a lot of ways kuhn has a two of the things that Coughlin values most, strength and an real dedication to the team concept and what it entails. Coughlin thinks he can win with guys like that despite what they lack in "game talent".

So I'd propose a wager, not a big one, but how about this. First defensive snap of the game on Sunday night against the boys if kuhn is in there you donate 10 dollars to eric, if he isn't I'll donate the ten. Fair?

In the end BBI is a big winner but I think your hope for SOME kind of rationale for the discrepancy between what we see as fans and what the coaching staff believes is clouding your judgment. There isn't a conspiracy at play, the guy who has run with the ones all training camp and who has started every preseason game is gonna start. Our only hope is that the media picks it up and makes it impossible for him to last more than 2 games in there.

I,like everyone else was thrilled about our 2011 Super Bowl win. I do think that we do forget that were were somewhat fortunate to even be in the playoffs with a 9-7 record and that's with winning the last two. Thankfully, we got hot at the right time but were a mediocre football team until the playoffs. Since then we have been a lousy football team and the draft picks from 2010-2012 is a major reason for it. It can be argued that we have drafted better since then but let's see it show up on the field. Hopefully,it will.
