George Selvie thinks the Giants defense will be just fine this season despite what the rest of the world is saying about the beleaguered unit. One of the reasons he is confident: He helped prove the rest of the world wrong just last year.
Selvie was a member of the Cowboys defense that, at this time in 2014, was being projected as one of, if not the worst, in the league. They lacked star power, they lacked toughness, and they lacked discipline. But when the regular season began, they became a big part of Dallas' playoff season. |
They lost Sean Lee before the season
The Giants need some young players (Collins, Moore, Hankins, OO, Kennard, Thomas) to step up in a hurry if they're going to be even an average D.

Ball control would help a great deal imv
Terz, Ware left the year before I believe
Hopefully they step up and start making some plays. Time will tell.

Yea, unfortunately, while I think the offense will put up some points, my (uneducated) guess is that they'll be more like Philly in that regard than Dallas. Philly was dead last in TOP. The Giants obviously won't play at Philly's pace, but I see a lot of big plays assuming Cruz/Beckham/Randle get and stay healthy.
Cullen Jenkins? :)
Regardless of peoples' feelings on pre-season, I wouldn't put much stock in the likely beating the Clwboys will give us in the opener..That almost APPEARS to me to be a given..Try to project further down the road, if possible..It's gonna take time, imo
I hope history repeats itself.
That said, to paraphrase Rick Pitino, Strahan isn't walking through that door. Tuck isn't walking through that door. Osi isn't walking through that door.
And who knows? the Cowboys could be one of those teams you expect to be the 12-4 replicate that they were last year and shit the bed this year! But that Giants D line just looks awful and it might be a nightmare vs the talented Dallas offensive line.

Hmm IDK about that because I recall it was him who picked off Eli's very first pass and taking it to the house on that ill advised screen opening week of 2013. Right?

I have been predicting a down year for Dallas as I believe the Murray loss AND what it allowed Romo to do was neyond huge..The other RBs had a very good YPC, but they didn't have to carry the rock 400 times..
That said, I'm not sure we'll be ready in Game 1..Who do you think I want to be right here? :)
No, he didn't. He signed March 2014. Terz is right.

Terz, just looked it up..You were right about Ware..Apologies..

OTOH, I can't remember the last time an NFL player said "We suck!"
Justin Tuck made that statement, but used the term "stink" under Fewell.. two seasons ago...

We gave up 45 and 35 in weeks one and two against Dallas and GB in 2007. We also gave up 31 to Dallas in week 10, 41 to Minny (was this the pick six game?) in week 12 and of course 38 to NE in week 17. That unit was hardly a shut down D until the playoffs.
I remember Ross got burnt by Rice
