that think Wellington Mara "started it all"? His father started it. His brother ran it when the Giants were great in mid 50's and early 60's. When his brother Jack died way too young in 1965 Wellington ran it into the ground until his nephew Tim, Jack's son, and 50% owner mutinied in 1979 until Pete Rozelle stepped in and found them George Young. I never met Wellington Mara. His reputation as great family man and gentlemen is most likely true. As a football person not so much. Wellington's son Chris is the Giants football person now and has been since 2011. Seems to going well so far......
Really though, you only have a couple spots to play with because we know Eli and LT are both on it..
Maybe Parcells? Simms? I'm sure some of the older guys probably can stake more of a claim, but being born in '89, I never got to see them play so it's tough for me to even know who would be deserving. Gifford? Tarkenton? Tarkenton was more a Viking, right?
I think you can definitely give Strahan a spot also, now that I think about it further..
I then say Roosevelt Brown, Frank Gifford.
close call: Strahan, Mel Hein, Steve Owen.
Ridiculous. McConkey should be nowhere near that group of scrubs. Shame on you. 2 minutes in the box.
