Ride your horse as fast as you damn well please! You know why? Because this is a football message board where wild speculation/optimism doesnt actually hurt the team because none of us are decision makers.
Im with you! Reese has been very good in the early rounds; hopefully this is the year we have nailed down a few diamonds in the rough later in the draft.
That's encouraging. The first two are immediate starters (for better are worse), and Odighizuwa will figure prominently in the DE rotation soon, if not on Day 1.
Davis and Hart have been pleasant surprises, though it would be wildly premature to pencil them in as future starters. On the other hand, Thompson might be viewed as a write-off for now: he was a developmental prospect even before suffering a huge injury setback that will cost him at least a year.

By your usual posts i am shocked you didn't say zero.
You obviously don't read the entire content of my posts, you pick and choose, like most on BBI....
RE: So far, the top three appear to be as advertised.

immediate starters bc they NEED to be ... #58 is raw, not there yet ...
Yeah...dont you all see the harm this is bringing the team? A guy on a football message board is optimistic about draft picks who have played well so far! If fans lose focus the team is doomed!
it goes against their negative DNA. To them everything in life is shit, the football team they "root' for is just one more shitty thing like their wives, their jobs, their families, their places where they live, the money they dont make and it goes on and on

Amazing what can be deduced from a post on a football site. Of course, you could just be projecting.
This isn't just blind optimism. All four can and probably will make a positive impact on this team. They've shown their athleticism and their desire/work ethic.
The naysayers be damned. And I think the silent majority would agree.
especially on the Giants who rarely resign their players to a second contract. I'll be happy if any of these guys stay healthy during their rookie contracts.
Collins looks like the starting Safety for the next 10 years..
Flowers looks like the starting LT for the next 10 years...
Owa has shown situational pass rush skills, against the Jets he showed he could set an edge but for right now he will be a situational pass rusher, maybe in the nascar package...
Thompson was getting some first team reps in practice but the injury hurts, hopefully he cna fully recover and come back next year...
Davis looks like he can be a good possession receiver, kind of reminds me of James Jones, a guy that is not going to wow you with athleticism and speed but will go up and get the ball and is good when you need a first down...very strong when attacking the ball...
Hart has looked good against 2nd and 3rd stringers but he is the back up this year and hopefully next year he can make the jump to RT and that would kind of solidify the line but for right now he is a back up...
and was about to start a similar post. Flowers, Collins and Odi look like they can really play. Flowers will have rookie issues but he's a tough kid, isn't intimidated, appears mature beyond his years, and could very likely be a 10-year fixture. And I just hope the football gods keep Collins healthy. Odi needs reps, coaching but already looks like a competent rotational player with a big upside. And Hart is a 20-year old kid who could develop into a Seubert-type player down the road. And the perspective goes beyond Dallas on 9/13 and beyond this season.
RE: There are no 10 year players in the NFL anymore
especially on the Giants who rarely resign their players to a second contract. I'll be happy if any of these guys stay healthy during their rookie contracts.
Rarely resign players to second contracts?
Osi, Tuck, Strahan, Kiwanuka, Eli, Bradshaw, Jacobs, Snee, Dhiel, Webster, Ross, Terrell Thomas, David Tyree, Deossi, Will beatty,
You don't look at last seasons draft and this seasons draft as home runs, then you are a miserable Giants fan, since there is nothing good about the previous 2 or 3. Might as well focus on the last two.
RE: Why don't we at least wait until after the Dallas game
Immediately after the draft, I felt the Giants did a fantastic job and got what appears to be 3 first rounders.
Even more with 4,5,6 starters? If so, that's likely the best draft the Giants ever had. Not putting anyone in Canton yet but the last 2-3 drafts show a marked improvement.
After the 2012 season Griffin and Morris looked like they were going to the Hall of Fame. Unbelievable rookie years. Griffin's demise is well known, but several of the talking heads in DC feel Matt Jones will take over as their number one RB this season.
The good news is we aren't getting reports that the draft picks can't play. That is the kiss-of-death. I think we can all be very hopeful.
Hart( down the road)
Collins(might be a beast)
OO(might be a beast)
Davis( he is a player, what his ceiling is, ??0
Thompson( huge ? mark at this point, but they liked him a lot and we shall see)

the failure to run the ball with any success
the failure to stop the run with any success
defensive secondary confusion
lack of continuity when on offense (I understand Eli didtn take a snap, but its been that way with him at the helm as well)

None of that has anything to do with HH's post. He is talking about 4 draft picks, not the team as a whole.
Double O got good reviews from his performance last night too as did Geremy Davis.
these past three drafts have yielded more in terms of starters than the combined rest of Reese's tenure.
2014 was a HR (Beckham, Richburg, and Kennard all started as rookies, Beckham went to the pro-bowl).
2013 yielded Pugh and Hankins, plus Moore still has potential as does Cooper Taylor.
If 2015 can produce the 4 starters you mention then Reese would have added 50% of the teams 22 starters in 3 years.
Now, if they could experience some on-field success (in terms of W/L) it will be more notable.
Amazing what can be deduced from a post on a football site. Of course, you could just be projecting.

Champagne? Wtf is wrong with you? Who here is popping champagne? Because the OP likes the potential of the draft picks?
Get outta here with that nonsense. The negativity around here is unbelievable. Why bother watching sports if you're always so miserable?
