He was our secret weapon for a number of years and had as much to do with our 2011 Super Bowl season as anyone else on the team. You will always be a New York Giants and good luck Steve!
and he's yet another of the great NYG punters that played a huge part in a super bowl title. Steve sits at the round table with Sean and Jeff. And he's more than worthy.
I think the lasting image of the 2011 title team is Steve running off the field in San Fran. When I think of that season I think of that shot. And what a great hold from Steve! Truly a championship moment right there.
He should easily be able to get a media gig if there's no P job left

Steve for all you brought to the Giants, both on and off the field, especially in the community and your charitable work. You were a great Giant, and your punting was directly responsible for us winning Super Bowl 46. I agree that you were one of the greatest Giants punters ever, as good as Landeta and Jennings. Best wishes, and you will always be a Giant.
This is always the time that the business side of Football sucks... a necessary evil.
Not only was he a great punter for us, but what an amazing individual. I am in awe of how absolutely AMAZING he was to the kids and parents around here after the Sandy Hook incident. Really a heartfelt, helping hand kind of guy. Good luck always in your future endeavors Mr. Weatherford.
A Giants career that I'll look back at fondly. He was a good punter for us and an even better teammate. I loved how he got involved in the Beckham sideline brawl last year and kept Odell from potentially doing something really stupid. I don't think there are many punters who throw themselves into the fire like that, but Steve clearly did not have a typical punters mindset.
He has a great career in broadcasting in front of him if he wants it. Good luck.

Don't forget Dave Jennings too.
I did forget Jennings. My bad ---he was as good or better than any of them.
to you Steve, not only for being a class act and a great Giant, but also for your loyalty and for your dedication to your beautiful family. Best of luck in whatever you do. You will be missed by us fans.
We're going to the fuckin Super Boooooooooooooooooowl!!!

He had a good run here. Shame it ended a bit earlier than probably expected.

You were one of the best, right up there with Landeta and Jennings.
Best of luck to you and yours.

BTW, I'm not on twitter. Has Steve responded or made a statement?

Nothing on his Twitter page last I checked. I doubt he saw this coming. He was always really involved media wise

Nothing yet on twitter or Instagram. He's a classy dude, so I expect something good soon.
Wish you the best!
And he was a pretty good punter for three years (he tailed off a little but last year). His punting in the 2011 playoffs gave us an advantage too
Best of luck.
