WR-Washington going to IR solves a problem. I have to think he’s hard to let go. But we need reliability early and Parker/Jones provide that with Randle and Cruz both questions. Odds are both aren’t kept but for now I did keep both.
TE-I don’t think they want to cut Robinson. He is still the better blocker and Cunningham doesn’t give you much there. But Cunningham made plays. I really wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to get Cunningham to the PS. But I think he made it.
OL-I kept 8. I think we can have Cleary on the PS and he isn’t really the backup LT. Pugh is. Donnelly also is probably a PS player. I would have kept Jones but he got hurt. Beatty will be back so my guess is they save a spot by going with 8 for now with 2-3 on the PS and Beatty on the horizon.
DL-My next cut would probably be Wynn. Or the 7th WR. But he also made plays (against backups) last night. He is what he is. No great physical traits but he has things coaches like.
LB-I am not enamored of Unga. He’s ok. I would keep him on the PS but he isn’t a player right now.
CB-I kept Brown because they kept him so long so they must feel he will be back and worth the spot. And have made the team prior to getting hurt. Hosley and Harris are on and Wade is off.
S-This will change. Meriweather is on the edge. I assume Brown is ticketed to start but wasn’t ready last night. Collins and Taylor have gotten better over camp but I don’t think you want them as the tandem. Too little experience.
K-Boswell is nice but I can’t see cutting Brown.
But to forestall getting clobbered with negative posts from your fellow BBIers, you should have included a footnote with Holsey's name that reads: "Giants keep Holsey despite his being the third worst player in NFL history, behind only Adrien Robinson and Stevie Brown."
I think Darkwa goes in that scenario.
Unga and Whitlock and Wade are training camp players. Their upside is limited. They make nice stories and may have roles in the right situation but they aren't going to make or break a team if they are where they should be; the 51st thru 57th players in camp.
Never liked Herzlich after the first year, I'd go for the Unga kid.
Keeping Parker is crucial, IMO, knows the offense, can contribute, esp with Cruz's health in doubt.
Jones knows the system and of the backups with Cruz out has the most consistent hands. Parker if not for his ability in the return game I have no problem getting rid of. Hosley looked awful as a PR and we don't have many options although with his running style I wonder if Darkwa could do that
