Giants still on the look out for safeties

According to ESPN:

Talking to the Giants, told they'll spend the next 48 hours looking for safeties as they feel they need 2--either waiver claims or trade.

bode well for Meriweather and possibly Brown.
Craig Dahl was just cut

Just saying.
Waiver wire was always going to be in play...
MOOPS : 9/4/2015 3:22 pm : link
for safety, but 2?
Some people are not feeling the love today.
Who is out there
Big Blue '56 : 9/4/2015 3:23 pm : link
at this juncture? And are they upgrades?
Jackson, Behre and Gordy (maybe?) were the big blows
SGMen : 9/4/2015 3:24 pm : link
Thompson hurts too cause you don't know if he'll ever make it back.

You just have to pray Collins and Taylor hold the fort. I don't think they will EARLY in the season and teams like DALLAS will feast early and often deep. Prepare for a lambasting.

Chancellor....

Is there even 10% chance he's a possibility in a trade?
Glad to hear that
arniefez : 9/4/2015 3:27 pm : link
Hopefully OL and LB too.
Last night
Emil : 9/4/2015 3:28 pm : link
convinced me the coaching staff does not want Meriweather on the final 53 if they can help it. A veteran should not be making the errors he is making.

I doubt it, but if you believe Collins can play both safety spots then why not.

Behre Gordy.
Guess just more depth

Trade? I'd be surprised

If they can replace Merriweather, that would be a good thing.

I think Brown sticks..............

I would hope Reese has at least inquired. I am sure the asking price is too high.

Re-watched the game and
Steve Filipowicz : 9/4/2015 5:57 pm : link
Not only could Meriweather not cover but he was.a terrible tackler. He whiffed on at least 3 tackles.

Super-Dud of game
Merriweather stinks
Joey in VA : 9/4/2015 6:12 pm : link
And always has. He flies at ball carriers totally out of control and now that he's slower than he was he misses by more. He's awful.
Kenny Phillips has
giantgiantfan : 9/4/2015 7:11 pm : link
been solid in New Orleans so if he shakes loose we might try and retread that tire. However, he will likely make the Saints roster and possibly start.
Whomever they consider
JonC : 9/4/2015 7:12 pm : link
figures to be a backup FS, Taylor should get the start, but staying healthy is his issue.

As for worry, please pay attention to how Collins was deployed last night and how well he played, albeit not against NE's first string. Taylor has flashed a bit too. Get onboard or gtfo.

I'm just happy Collins has a good game. They need some help!
I heard a rumor that Rolle might not make the
Simms11 : 9/4/2015 9:50 pm : link
Final 53 in Chicago. Would we want him back? And if so in what capacity? Would we put Collins at FS? He looks like he is excelling at SS.
simms11 if he is let go by Bears
jvm52106 : 9/4/2015 10:00 pm : link
of course we want him back.. It wouldn't even be a question.
If Rolle doesn't make that team, that's a bad sign

Pretty harsh review of Rolle's last game
Ten Ton Hammer : 9/4/2015 10:07 pm : link
Antrel Rolle said the secondary has to “contest more throws, win more 1-on-1 matchups, and just be a lot tighter in coverage.’’

In other words, do the opposite of what Rolle did against the Bengals in the Super Bowl of practice games Saturday night.

Rolle didn’t seem to execute any of those items on his checklist as the Bengals were dissecting the Bears on the first TD drive.

On the Bengals’ second scoring drive, Rolle didn’t look interested in tackling Marvin Jones inside the 10 on what became a 31-yard TD.

On the Bengals’ scoring third drive, Rolle took a bad angle on Jeremy Hill’s 26-yard run that came on first-and-20.

Does Rolle not care that much because it’s a practice game and he’s guaranteed a position or is he just not that good, and wouldn’t that make him a perfect Bears safety?
