this morning my normal 5 minute haircut took 30 minutes because the barber couldn't stop babbling about what a great injustice has been righted with the deflategate ruling.
then this afternoon at the driving range an instructor at the end of range actually said "every golfer has a slightly different swing plane. just like every quarterback prefers his footballs with slightly different air pressure."
its excruciating. sports radio is even worse.
Just live in that nice comfort zone! I do! LOL
I agree that the Deflategate thing was a waste of time, but this notion in New England that it was all a Tom Brady smear campaign is laughable. What the hell does the NFL have to gain by dragging its best player through the mud like this? He cheated - everyone knows it. They just didn't have enough evidence and, ultimately, it became a joke of a process.
it's music radio for the next week.
it is truly nauseating.
As for the fans... they did not exist pre Parcels and no one cared that much even then. I remember going to a pre season game there and having people coming up to me and faring on me and other fun things.

They are winning at a historic pace, they won championships, they've dominated regular season after regular season, they have won the division 12 out of 15 seasons Belichick has been coach.
And don't give me any crap about a weak division, the Patriots make it weak. The Giants in that division wouldn't come close to that regular season winning percentage, and what's more astonishing, is they have a higher post-season winning percentage than regular season under Belichick, around 70%.
You don't get why they're bulletproof? Winning hides a lot, especially sketchy claims.

Get how this team is bullet proof to the media here. They have no problems being fair and critical of the 3 other major sports teams.

You would think the Red Sox would get more benefit of the doubt too then. 3 world series in 10 year span and they love going after them.

I'm here for you pj. The Gretzky to your Kurri:
Since 2001, excluding games against the Patriots, the Jets have a 51.53% winning percentage, the Bills have a 43.87%, and Dolphins have 48.98% winning percentage.
The Patriots have a 75.89% winning percentage since 2001, 74.64% against non-divisional opponents, 77.9% against division opponents.

The Sox have been a dumpster fire for three of the past four years, so there is plenty to criticize. The Pats haven't had a bad season since 2002. There's nothing to criticize except for their dishonesty in following the rules, and no fan wants to have their team attacked in that way. They take it as a personal attack. Even though the Pats are the 800-pound gorilla of the NFL, their fans still see themselves as the plucky underdogs that won SB 36 over the Rams.

I agree for the most part. But I think you underestimate just how shitty the rest of that division has been for YEARS! Yea, the NFC East has down years. But no more than like 2 before there are at least 2 if not 3 scary teams that nobody in the NFL wants to play.
The Pats are a very well run organizatiin in a division with 3 other teams run similarly to the Washington Redskins. If the Giants played the Redskins 6 times a year, I honestly think that they would win close to the divisions the Pats have. They also have a coach, who in my opinion, is the best ever in terms of playing the hand he's dealt to near perfection.
That said, fuck those fans and their Teflon mentality.
My new game is to hide every article about Deflategate and Donald Trump that appears in my FB news feed. It seriously cuts it in half.

Brett posted the facts for you, there is no underestimation.
The Patriots have a 75.89% winning percentage since 2001, 74.64% against non-divisional opponents, 77.9% against division opponents....
It's sad the Belichick/Brady era Patriots will most likely go down in history as the greatest team ever, most dominant dynasty ever and their fan base is as annoying as could possibly be, but they feed off the franchise.
I watched the game on mute. Much more enjoyable.
Whenever I'm up in Massachusetts, NH, or Maine, I always wear my NYG gear. I get some looks, but nobody says anything. What can they say? We own them. We've kept them from immortality.

I think you may have missed the "I agree with you for the most part." Did not say the Giants could do against the rest of the league what the Pats have. But playing teams like the Fins, Bills and Jets (save 2 years under Rex) 6 times certainly doesnt hurt. And when you win your division, you go to the postseason. The Giants if playing those teams 6 times a year coukd come very close to doing what the Pats have done as far as winning divisions.
No doubt that team is usually the most prepared team on the field.
I honestly didn't know what a pink hat was. So I googled it. From urban dictionary word for word:
pink hat
An overzealous, bandwagoner typically
female fan of a recently successful local pro sports franchise. Characterized by the brand spanking new officially licensed pink team hat. Typically spends majority of game chatting on cell phone, waving to tv camera, asking idiotic questions & being a stupid annoying nuisance in general. Most commonly found at Fenway Park & Foxboro Stadium.
"Ohhhh it's so cold up here in the bleachers, can we go home after the 7th period is over?"
"Put a sweater on, shut up, and we aren't leaving til the 9th INNING's over you dumb pink hat whore"
the Patriots don't have that same phenomenon to the same extent and the Celtics and Bruins don't really either, IMO it's limited to the Red Sox and part of the reason the city is still sort of self-deprecating toward them.
I beg to differ.

yes, that's them! but a lot of the male fans up here are also bandwagon fans. sort of like the cowboy fan base, but in new england. in fact, it's very hard to find a pats fan that is actually a football fan.
Patriots are like the tallest midget in that contest since there is really no winner, but the other fan bases in general are worse.
for the main reason they have the same shitty attitude but haven't won in forever, or ever in the Eagles case.

But with Philly and Skins fans, its been decades of despair. I have relatives who are Pats fans. They are SOOOOO obnoxuous when they win. They were even obnoxious rooting against Peyton Manning two SBs ago. And even though I dont bring it up, every Pats fan loves referring to our most recent SB wins as "lucky." Yet when they win its all greatness from Brady and BB. Fuck yourselves.
I'm the CT Giants and Sox fan, and while I hate the Pats, the Yankees fans have certainly embraced A-Fraud's big year so assuming you're a Yankees fan youre a hypocrite because theres no bigger fraud that A rod
The thing of it is that A-Rod was busted, did his time, and has (rightfully) been lampooned universally over the past few years. Let us remember that A-Rod has never failed a drug test...
Ortiz, on the other hand, has failed a drug test. When he was outed for it, he gave that lukewarm statement about "gathering information" and then--not unlike OJ vowing to track down Nicole's killer--Ortiz promised he'd get back to the media once he got to the bottom of it. That was five years ago.
The NFL has a lot of rules that are there and a violation of those rules will not impact the outcome of the game. This can be filed in the same bucket as uniform violations...ie shirt not tucked in.
From 2002-2011, including a year with Matt Cassell at QB, the Patriots went 35-5 against the NFC.

Only downside is that Patriots Nation (established in 2001) now gets to pretend their team doesn't consist of a bunch of cheating pricks.
LOL! /thread
That's just not true, and I get annoyed at the ignorance perpetuated by statements like "The Pats fanbase is all bandwagon" or "The Penguins fanbase is bandwagon."
Fact is the Patriots had atrocious ownership, a vulgar dangerous old stadium in Foxboro, and were really not legit.
AS SOON AS KRAFT BOUGHT THE TEAM THEY SOLD OUT.
The exact thing that happened to Buffalo when Pegula bought the Bills happened back in 1993 with New England.
That base was there the second they got a legit operations in place.
This is NOT like the Bruins (whose fanbase is entitled, overrated, and bandwagon).

Typical Red Sox fans ignorance. You just don't get it, do you? ARod has been the pinada for steroid users. Hes been destroyed by everyone on the planet. Including Yankee fans. He served a years suspension. He certainly has done his time. Ortiz? The clown gets treated like royalty by the fans and media. He was on the same list as ARod, yet somehow escapes any and all criticism. That is the definition of fraud.
When Ortiz goes through everything that ARod has, let me know. Until then, kiss my ass with this Ortiz/ARod comparison bullshit. Take your damn head out of the sand. ARod has done his time and has earned the right to move on. Ortiz, not even close.
